The fact is on precedent alone he deserved to get off. Not because he somehow done nothing as some bizarrely claim but because we can't have one rule for one and one for another.

Best of luck to him, it makes today's game even more intriguing and I'm glad that there can be no excuses after this one.

I'll say one thing though, the whole diciplinary procedure is some farce at this stage in fact coupled with the farcical black card which certain top GAA people still bizarrely think is a good idea is it any wonder referees and good ones are hard to come by. Who would be bothered with it, it's an impossible job to begin with made harder by the farce of a black card and ultimately whatever decisions they make get overturned anyway.

Why again did the ,ad have to be kept there till 2.30 am to make this decision. Beggars belief, The GAA need to do some serious should searching once this championship ends because it's been a disaster and one of the GAAs own making.

Punched a guy, caught on camera, clear cut case. DRA let him off, no justice.

It's a good day

Getting dragged to the ground and chocked hasn't won the day

Getting ratted on for defending yourself yourself

Common sense has won out

Suck it up you gombeens

He should never have been banned in the first place, and even more so given that the other 2 culprits involved in the incident were not banned at all.Go on Dermy!!!!!! Play some ball lad.

this is what is wrong with the gaa, of course connoly will probably do it again, since he keeps getting away with it
things like this are only enabling what happened last sunday
county board and managers think the rules only should apply to ever other county besides their own
and jim gavin seems to think players are not allowed to tackle his goalkeeper

Connolly

Connolly. Deserved a ban. But O'Connor did too. Right decision too late. Mayo fans didnt acknowledge O'Connors guilt.

Diarmuid Connolly cleared to play

Diarmuid Connolly had been cleared to play today by the DRA. No details of their report yet. But DC is back in the game.

Connolly Cleared

This has to be a joke, right? If not - how pathetic is the gaa. A strike is a strike, referee undermined, pointless having any rules at this stage. C'mon Mayo!!

This makes a mockery of rules.
Caught striking but gets off on appeal. Madness.
Don't care where he's from either. This is just wrong.

Thank God that sh!8e is over with. He won his appeal, we've had red cards turned over recently, that's life! Makes for an even better game, I hope the craic between both sets of supporters returns after all the crap about the game last week. Hope whoever wins lifts Sam.
Hon Mayo

As we are all now concerned with justice. Anyone know how ROC is doing? Any chance of him playing today?
