Was this the worst semi final ever?

FAO KySam15 to me Kerry are the most cynical and win at all cost team's in the land. Sorry to say but It is a bad day for the GAA when Kerry win the football and Kilkenny the hurling. Both are good teams and have good players.
But these counties are not good sportsmen. They and their followers (like you) "sledge" other teams, just like you have done now. If another team beats Kerry listen to the cry- cheating, cheating ref, puke ball etc etc etc.
If any team has saved the GAA in the last few years it is Mayo, and to a lesser degree Dublin or Donegal finally Kerry.

One thing for sure whoever comes out on top this saturday kerry will be waiting no better team at the dark arts only thing though they are the masters and rarely get caught, before last sunday i thought the winner would be either mayo or dublin but when i seen the standard of actual football served by both it has to be kerry when did you ever see a kerry team make pathetic attempts at point scoring like we seen from mayo last sunday plus kerry would actually destroy dublin in the middle third if they meet,

Slayer: great call. 2011 was brutal. Personally I could barely get through that game, and while acknowledging that it was a master class in tactics and patience from the Dubs, as a spectacle it left an awful lot to be desired.

This was not the best performance by Mayo but it was not by a long way their worst semi final. 81, 92 and 93 come to mind. As far as Mayo being an average team they came within 3 minutes of beating Kerry last year and going to their 3rd All Ireland in a row. That doesn't sound like an average team to me.

Your some man on here accusing me of sledging other counties when all you seem to comment on is how dirty and cynical Kerry are.
After every Kerry game you point out every single negative aspect of our play.
Your views on Kerry are well known..

Whatever about your views on Kerry winning been bad for the GAA, what have Kilkenny done to say they are bad sportsmen??

Im in agreement that the standard was poor, very fast paced and high intensity but the actually skill level was below average especially from mayo, some of the kick passing was brutal, seams o shea had a couple of cross field passes that were nowhere near a mayo man, aidan o shea had free and kicked it to a wide open dublin man from yards from him and mayos finishing was brutal! Dublin only played in splurts as well! Think both teams would admit they didn't play great but hopefully they get their act together for Saturday and we will be in for a cracking game!

1780041 Come on the standard of football was awful if these are 2 of the best 3 teams in the country then standrads are at an all time low, just because a game is exciting dont mean the quality was good in actual fact on second viewing it looked even worse.

You're in a hole of your own entirely of your own making. Stop digging. Your posts have been ridiculous.

1992 Donegal v Mayo was bad But at the end it was one of Donegals best days in Croke park-----WE GOT TO OUR FIRST ALL IRELAND FINAL AND WENT ON TO WIN IT AT THE FIRST ATTEMPT.
I would not see 2011 as that bad, it showed us something about swarm defending , it also set us on our way in 2012 and in all honesty we never looked like being beat
Plus we came from a preliminary round in Ulster to go and beat all the top teams in Ireland

Oh yew_tree, believe me that 1992 game was a shocker ! Much, much worse than last Sunday's match...and proof that all that matters in a semi final is winning it. Watching that game, you would have put your house on Dublin winning the final cos Donegal were awful & look how they played in the final !

Anyway...trying to digress a bit from yet another forum that's turned into 'you're an eejit, no you are'

Really enjoyable match up and down the field lots of intensity and hard hits some great scores and an unbelievable finish. There was a ten minute lull in the second half when it looked like Dublin would pull away but apart form that short spell its was terrific entertainment.

There have been bucket loads of semi finals over the last 10 years that have been way worse.

I honestly don't think some people actually know what high quality football is.The standard in this game although not as high as others it was understandable that this was the case as the game was played at such a ferocious intensity. Its easy to play really crisp clean football in a low intensity game it's extremely difficult to do so in a really intense game. There were mistakes in the game because of the intensity, if there is a huge amount of silky football being played it's usually a sign that the game isn't be fought as ferociously as Sundays game was.

I remember people complaining about the standard in the Mayo Kerry replay last year and that the game was scrappy despite it being one of the all time great games in my opinion.

If there is loads of really nice football in a game a lot of the time it is an indication that there is a lack of intensity or competitiveness.

You cant say something was the worst if you exclude X Y and Z. Its a 70 min game. I remeber thinking to my self at HT the pundits where idiots for saying it was a poor game. Give the nerves a chance to settle and the body a bit to losen
