An exciting but terrible game. Full of niggle and cynicism from both sides. A lot of off the ball incidents.

I thought the winner of today's game would beat Kerry in the final but I'm not so sure anymore. The replay might bring Mayo on but Dublin are nowhere near the standard of 2011/2013.

Can imagine the outrage if Kerry had been awarded the penalty that was awarded to Mayo.

Royaldun
What do you think now and no northern / Ulster team involved Some nasty stuff, every bit as bad and worse than you would see in Ulster games Kerry would even have been at home today in Croke park , would have been well able to dish it out too. Just the same as Donegal / Armagh/Tyrone
Only if the last three named counties were involved there would be uproar.
Thinking of what K Cassidy said in his book about Donegal ---- we were not bad enough
I agree with him and any team trying to make a breakthrough against established. Teams must be prepared to walk a fine line when they get to C P. Otherwise they will be walked over , never mined punched , stamped and dragged
But the GAA has to look at all this cynical play and as I said use technology. They want to clear up the definition of the tackle and have to improve the standard of referring
Bad referring is happening in every game.

Royaldunne. Ok no diving for having hair ruffled.. fair enough. But head butts, stamps, punches, pulling and dragging... sledging.. did you see Dublin player walk after the red card and his reaction. O'Rourke called it correct in the paper this morning.. it should be called hows it seen. But everything which happened today is certainly no big deal compared to the 'Great Meath' team of the 90s so you are probably not shocked. It needs to be highlighted just like Tyrone were vilified.

royaldunne i take you missed the dive by a Dublin player to get o'shea sent off, and the attempted head butt on o 'shea and the near leg breaking challenge in the first half???? Any netural who doest hate the north will say thst game was a disgrace and was cynical.

I remember tommy freeman got 8 weeks suspension a few years ago for what McMahon did today attempted headbutt. Sunday game will be interesting tonightif those incidents get highlighted. Mayo could walk the replay if the right players are suspended.

I'm sure most will agree with me when i say that every player should be held responsible for their actions on the pitch. Time to grow up and take your punishment if you've done wrong and called up for it instead of pleading innocent all the time. Play acting, Diving, cynical play and dangerous play are starting to become accepted under the assumption that one county gets away with it so will we. The top brass need to come down heavy after next congress with a new display board as it's now impossible for a ref to keep an eye on 30 players and keep a game going.

Why is everyone crying about Tyrone been treated badly by the media???????

Tyrone got what the deserved, you go out and play football in that way then you reap what you sow.

This isnt a sour Monaghan man as we got what we deserved that day as we lay down and let it happen.

The Sunday game tonight will tell the tale,Dublin were a disgrace today and will be sorted out during the week.Cooper and McMahon should be banned for what there were at.

As for Joe McQuillan somethings will never change poor performance that kept Dublin ahead as long as he could.

Over all a poor game that only came alive in the last 10 minutes.

Football is desperate bad,Jim McGuinness has alot to answer for.

RD you didn't see Philly McMahon's reaction to getting his hair brushed by Aidan O'Shea then? two medics with an ice pack were needed and the ref called up play just in case you'd forgotten...or at least chose to.

Joxer Mayo should have had twice as many frees and 2 penalties Dublin could have had at least 4 men sent off McMahon for a head butt Brogan for a punch to the head and Cooper for the stamp and Connolly. Talking about the amount of frees Mayo got is ridiculas

A lot of Nordies on here moaning. For a minute I thought Ulster still had a team in the championship. Interesting that the thread title has Dublin and Mayo named but all the bitterness is aimed at Dublin who actually had three players removed from the field of play today. Now how long of a suspension did Tiernan McCann get again? Dear oh dear chaps try and be a bit objective. I see Ulsterman about today. No surprise there. Expect every game to be under the micrscope from now on with every ref reaction to a foul compared to a Tyrone game equivalent. Anybody know what happened to ROC? Seemed like a serious injury. I presume he collided with the post!

I'm not a huge O'Rourke fan but great article in the Indo from him. Spot on Colm.

Traleenative Mayos penalty was every bit a penalty as was Dublins in the first half Also O'Shea should have had 1 as well Kinda funny a Kerryman complaining about a refs decision The only 1 that has ever gone against them is Sheamus Darby

Nothing compared to the play acting of Tyrone over past few season, i don't like the cynicism that has came into football one bit, there was some very marginal hits today that bordered on the way over top, i say it again, the way the game has gone is incorrect but who is to blame? I mean if two ulster teams were playing today theyd be saying it was tough ulster football. Bs, today was ott, but to try to likened it to the action of McCann is chalk and cheese.

Was at the game. Thought Dublin was the better team. Mayo very lucky to get the draw. Didn't think Dublin were particularly cynical apart from delaying tactics near the end. If Mayo show the same belief they showed in the last 10 minutes they should win the replay. But it's a big if. Was very impressed by the magnanimity of Dublin supporters at the end. The big winner here was probably Kerry.

Exciting finish but a poor game with a lot of distasteful stuff. Dublin surprised me with their cynical approach which, in the main, went unpunished. True, they picked up two black cards but they could have got another three or four for intentionally blocking the runs of Mayo players. I did not see Connollys red card incident but Coopers tackle was reckless and deserved a red card and, no doubt the powers that be will be looking at McMahons head butt effort. Dubs were good going forward but poor when Mayo ran at them. Mayos shooting was very poor.
