God ye are never happy in Kerry. Is qualifying for an 11th all-Ireland this millennium not enough.

Alright folks, since ye are quoting Mr. Marley I will leave ye in peace. Enjoy Dublin v Mayo. Let's hope the best team remaining wins Sam. My parting words are let's focus on the positives that our great players display on these Summer, Spring, Winter and Fall weekends.

It's fairly common in Ireland to begrudge and generally beggar your neighbour, so I'm a bit puzzled as to why Kerry posters are taking some of this criticism so personally. Come to think of it, when was the last time All-Ireland champions were popular? Pretty much every side to win Sam in the past 15 years or so has had their critics, with perhaps the exception of Galway in 2001.

Dublin 2011 and 2013 were loved and adored by neutrals and media throughout the country. 'Dublin winning is great for the GAA' was said by many involved. Also documentaries commissioned by RTE to celebrate successes.

Donegal 2012 Jim McGuinness hailed as an 'absolute genius' for masterminding Donegals success. Again RTE Documentary commissioned 'Jimmy's winning matches'. Most neutrals delighted to see Sam return to the hills for the 1st time in 20 years.

Which leaves Cork and Kerry getting the cold shoulder from the general public and media after winning Sam Maguire (teams which have won Sam since turn of decade).

Load of rubbish. The media has beatified Galvin and Donaghy into superstars when they're very ordinary players. The only player who never got the credit is Declan O'Sullivan, the best player to play for Kerry since Maurice Fitz, but never looked for the limelight.

Credit? What credit and from who? Anyone that gives a goddamn about credit from media talking heads aka spoofers needs their heads examined.
Having Sam in your custody is enough for me.

Paul Galvin an ordinary player. Dearie me you have just proved my point Icehonesty about the lack of respect shown to Kerry.

You would think getting to an AI Football Final for the 11th time in the 21 century (Mayo are 2nd highest on 4 appearances) on meagre population and resources would bring a little respect instead of the whinging, nitpicking and general disrespect from fans and media alike.

Firstly, your dead right about Declan: its amazing how little recognition a player of his stature has been given. On Today FM when they were doing their recent 15 of the last 15 years they even commented on how few people were putting Declan on their teams. In a thread about greatest modern GAA players on here recently, I think I was the only one to mention him. Absolutely baffling.

For anyone in need of a remainder of the great man, just check out the highlights of last year's Munster final. JOD might have stole the limelight but I personally think it was Declan's finest game in a Kerry jersey.

Secondly, I'm afraid your dead wrong as regards Kieran and Paulie. Two amazingly gifted individuals. IMO Galvin is one of the greatest players to wear the jersey and was the heart of the great Kerry team of the last decade.

I'm amazed Donaghy could have any doubters after last year's Championship, never was a nickname so apt...
