If they do, they clearly don't have confidence in being able to win by just going out there and playing football...

Mayo, like any other team, will target any potential weakness in the opposition. If they perceive Cluxton to be a weakness then they will target him, if not they won't. Dublin will be looking at any potential Mayo weaknesses and planning accordingly. In a game like this one forced error can make all the difference.

Of course they will , he is a very average keeper and leaks plenty of goals.
Mad not to target him.

What do you mean mess up his hairstyle a bit?

The only time Cluxton gets rattled is at the victory speech at the end...
Maybe throwing a victory speech at him during the game will completely put him off?

Yip. That's our plan. You must have access to some spy sattelite technology or maybe you've a cousin in the FBI? I saw something similar in Columbo a while back. We've abandoned the quite popular method of having more points on the scoreboard at the final whistle. We'll have to revert to plan A now I suppose.

Royaldunne - you are always good for a laugh.

Don't think they will target him specifically but more so the kickouts

Royaldunne,a lot less leaky than paddy o rourke, you only wish the topic was about targeting him in the month of August.

Yes I expect them to walk up to him and punch him in the face at the start, and then hope he can't concentrate for the rest of the game, it will be amazing.

I except Aidan O Se to push him into the net like Fermanagh did and repeat x10. So with 10 goals we should win ;)

When did they rough him up in the league? McLoughlin lightly slapped the ball. Cluxton was daft to react the way he did.

A lot of that talk is just coming from people going on about the game and what they would like to see happen. I don't see this as a tactic myself. However, Id fully expect a few high balls to go in and Aidan O'Shea to be following them in at full pelt. But that goes for any keeper in any game, not specifically cluxton. I think people have seen him get slightly temperamental - Jim McGuinness alluded to this also, and maybe see that as something that could go against Dublin if it came to it.

Your boys aren't exactly squeaky clean...

Mayo would be daft not to try and slow down Cluxton's kick outs. He seems to have ball boys firing balls at him as soon as they've gone dead. Give's him a big advantage in my opinion.

He gets the same treatment from the ball boys in Croker as every county keeper does. Ball boys in Croke Park for the past 16 months have been from neutral counties. But don't let facts get in the way of your conspiracy theory.

Not to mention there are no balls actually being fired at him: 'The ball boys in place must come from a county that is not involved in the match in question and their function, according to the protocol now in place, will be to retrieve balls from behind the goals and leave them in a place where goalkeepers can then access them quickly.

A direct feed between the ball boy and the goalkeeper to shorten the time the ball is out of play will no longer be permitted.'
