Season Tickets seats for Croke Park Semi Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

This is something that has been annoying me for the last few years, I have been a season ticket holder for Dublin since they came out have been to 90% of the League/ Champ games since so i ask this question;

All Championship they have been seating us in the Lower Cusack when nobody bothered there boll?x to turn up for the early rounds.

Even for the quarter final was seated 4 rows from the front on the upper cusack which were good seats.

But as soon as the Semi final comes around we are stuck up in the clouds in Row w ( 4 rows from the back in the upper cusack ) the exact same thing happended last year against Donegal.

Why is it that when it gets to the big games ie: Semi Final / Final of the All-Ireland they give you the worst seats in croke park?

When did you buy your season ticket? The more recent purchases aka 3/4 years ago befure they stopped selling them seem to get thrown everywhere. I am also lower cusack in 304, 305 or 306.

Both Dublin and Mayo hAve sold full allocation of season tickets since about 2 years ago which I believe is 5k max per county

Bad way to treat season ticket holders. Can be hit and miss in my experience. Last year was the first full year I got great Croke Oark seats, lower hogan. This year I was in 307 lower cusack and for the semi final I am in 305 which are both great sections. Have been put in the corner a few times too.

It's a joke, I wanted to bring friends and family to the match yesterday and got relegated to crap seats. It was that or sit on my own. For the Munster final I couldn't buy a second ticket but when I arrived at the ground there were leftover stand tickets for sale.

In fairness I don't mind being moved if you want to bring a friend as why should your non season ticket holding friend get centre seats ahead possibly of an actual season ticket holder

I gave up on it when i kept getting allocated seats in section 301 - they should be given away for free. Buy from ticket office or through the club, even centra is a better option.

1771613 When did you buy your season ticket?
-----------------------------------------------------

I first got my season tickets in 2012.

On my season tickets account it has upper cusack for the championship yet for the first 3 games we were seated in the lower cusack.

I thought the idea of the season ticket was to award loyalty.

For the Mayo match were in upper cusack 705.

I'm in the same boat Jack. Currently on 86% attendance, the game on the 30th will bring me up to 92% yet I've been rewarded for my loyalty by being pushed from 706 Row B for the Fermanagh game to 705 Row U for the Semi Final.

I know 2 other season ticket holders, 1 from Dublin and 1 from Mayo, both currently on 61% who have both been assigned seats in 706 about 16 rows in front of me.

I knew that when I bought the season ticket that for the All Ireland Series I would be in the Upper Tiers and that's fine but I'm seriously p*ssed off with the seats I've been given.

The same happened last year and the year before too. The only reason I continue to get the Season Ticket is I know I'd have no hope getting a ticket for the final (if we're lucky enough to get there.)

Yeah I'm in 305. I subscribed as soon as the scheme was announced and have always been in the lower sometimes further right of halfway but have a great ticket this time. I've seen the Dublin season ticket number often quoted at 13K.

I am a season ticket holder since 2014, I and other people I know who bought season tickets when they were first brought out were in the Lower Cusack v Donegal in the rain while my next door neighbour bought tickets in Centra and got Upper Hogan, he said they were the best tickets he ever had in Croke Park and will always try to get Upper Hogan again, well done to the GAA they are really supporting the genuine fan, the person who stood in the wind and rain last February at League matches got rubbish tickets while the sunshine supporters who didn't go to a game all year get the good seats, in my GAA club players and officers were asked were you going to the Mayo match they replied No i'll wait for the All Ireland Final, that sums up the whole problem with allocation, all tickets should be sold through season tickets with a few thousand for the sponsors to be sold countrywide, the only good thing I can say about season tickets is if you attend over 60% of games you are guaranteed All Ireland Final ticket

I can see why you'd be p*ssed off - that seems shambolic.
Doesnt reward the loyal supporters. Not acceptable.

Ive a season ticket for the hill meself, so im not in the same boat, but before that i have been shafted big time by my club when
the dubs get to the latter stages. At least RTE 'celebrities' get theirs.

Anyways im going off point...

Have yez tried ringing the ticket office and complaining?
Dont know if it will get you anywhere but worth a shot.

I've mailed the season ticket office HenryHill16. Not that they'll do anything about it. Will probably get the same generic email I got when i complained last year and the year before. Seats are already assigned so we can't be moved etc etc. I'll also be told that due to the fact Dublin and Mayo have the largest amount of season tickets it's hard to please everyone etc. I get that. I just think those with the higher % of attendance (i.e. the most loyal supporters) should get the better seats.

In general, I think the season tickets are a great step forward for GAA looking after supporters. Loyal supporters who travel to majority of matches are guaranteed tickets to the final if their county gets there. They are also encourage supporters to travel to more games.

I do fully agree with the posts here also, season ticket holders should get better seats. eg. Allocate them in sections 303-309 and 328-334 starting row H back.

What has your journey or your (chosen) job got to do with someone having an issue with how the GAA are rewarding them for their loyal support?

I assume any Mayo supporters that are also unhappy with their allocated seats but like you, may have cows to milk/long journey ahead before hitting Croke Park, they're justified in being p*ssed off? Just not us Dubs because although we also pay for our tickets and attend games all year round, we have no right to be because we 'have it easy up there'.
