Niall Quin re Canning

We all know he's ONLY 26 but we've been hearing about his age since he was 18! It's nothing really to do with age, it's more to do with reaching your peak and maintaining it for a number of years. Eight years playing senior hurling takes its toll. Joe is showing signs of fatigue. And ironically the bigger the contribution from his team mates the more his own contribution is becoming clearer.

Joe is going to win that medal that all Galway people crave.I really think Galway have a great chance now.In fact,i would make them my favourites right now.And this coming from a man who has tipped Kilkenny to win every year since 2003.It is going to be some final lads.

i think KK will win and this is coming from a man that has went against them every year since I was born!! Admittedly the heart usually ruled the head though!!

I don't think KK are going exceptionally well but I think they might have enough against Galway. If Richie Power is fit I think they should win

haha tiobraid, all will be revealed in three weeks time.Although ive tipped the cats every year since 2003,it certainly doesnt mean ive shouted for them to win all these years.Far from it.Ive massive respect for what Kilkenny have achieved. How could any fair minded person not?But i will be rowing in behind the tribesmen on Sept 6th.Just like i would have if Tipp had made the final.Either way,its my favourite day of the year.Think it will be my 18th or 19th final to attend.I have a feeling it will be a special one.

I suppose the only thing that hasn't been mentioned is where to play Joe, or what position to get the best out of him......y.a.w.n.

Joe is a fantastic player, one of the most naturally gifted hurlers I have ever seen so I fully understand Niall Quinn's point.I would accept that there are several players who are more effective and efficient but the thing about Joe is he can do something magical that other players wouldn't even dream of doing.Something to remember when the rest of the game is forgotten.
I hope he gets that one award thats eluded him so far.
