Kerry vs Tyrone Aug 23rd

Missdown! I thought you had forgotten your password, good job you remembered it now, in a couple of weeks we will be more than likely out of the championship and what would you have to comment on then? Your infatuation / hatred / jealousy of all things Tyrone never ceases to amaze.

Hoping and praying for a Kerry victory. Tyrone through the antics of their minors, under 21s and seniors have taken the good name of the GAA into the gutter this year. Hopefully Kerry will leave them there on the 23rd.

Wow this is rich coming from a Donegal point man, I bet you werent saying that when you won your All-Ireland. If I remember correctly it was Jim that brought this style of football into the game where you drop 13 men behind the ball and then break at pace or hoof to Murphy. Only difference is this year what ever was wrong with Murphy cause he hasn't looked fit all year since the Armagh game.

Tyrone v Kerry will be interesting and can't see our game plan changing that much due to the amount of Quality that the Kerry team have in their ranks. If Tyrone do win I wouldn't fancy our chances against either Dublin or Mayo. If Kerry win they will take Sam home, if Tyrone win the other semi winner will be crowned new champions

MissDown Fan, you have been on here for years criticising Tyrone and throwing your support behind everyone we play against. If you ask me it's a bit sad that it has come to this for some people from a once proud footballing county. We know exactly how you see it, you despise Tyrone. We get it. We don't care. Perhaps you should concentrate more on Down.

KYTitletown, You are probably right. Just as you will have new friends in Down, Donegal etc. we will likely get some in Cork etc. It happens to successful teams. I'm sure you don't pay any attention.

Its mad to think its been almost seven years since Kerry and Tyrone went toe to toe in a championship match in Croke Park!

The 2012 game was a special day in recent Kerry GAA history (something some posters on here seem to have conveniently forgotten about when talking about Kerry's received mental issue with Tyrone!).

Looking forward to the latest incarnation of this rivalry, it might not turn out to be beautiful football but it will always be fascinating.

I think Kerry will need to go for physicality over craft in their half forward line. For that reason I would put Gooch in the full forward line along with Geaney and BJ and leave Donaghy on the bench until the game opens up. JOD shouldn't be risked.

Tyrone will probably flood the middle and make it a real battleground, I can see Cavanagh been given licence to roam around there so the Kerry half forwards and half back will need to be wary of this.

Any chance we might see Galvin starting ;)

The referee will have a crucial role in this game. Hopefully he won't be swayed too much by the rubbish spouted by Whelan and O'Rourke on the Sunday Game last night. Remember, Kerry also have a few lads adept at "winning" soft frees too! As a neutral in Croke Park last Saturday, I was very impressed by Tyrone's attacking at pace. Harte and Donnelly were excellent, and Sean Cavanagh was immense. Overall, though, Kerry may have too many scoring options and are streetwise enough ( remember the replay v Mayo last year) to grind out a narrow win.

I think it should be a great match,Tyrone always seem to be able to handle Kerry and I won't be surprised to see a Tyrone victory,it's a tough ask for them being a team in transition but they can do it.
The anti-Tyrone bias is sickening and I for one am supporting Tyrone 100%

Great to see these two teams lock horns once again. This should be a real battle with plenty of atmosphere and passion. If I don't go down to it I'll be watching it on Sky Sports because I've had my fill of RTE for one summer! Sky Sports have hired real pundits who do their homework on tactics, players and managers and they deliver their views with enthusiasm and relevance. RTE bring back the same lazy analysts who couldn't name you two players from a team ranked below 10 or 11 in the country. Some of them don't have a notion of how teams set up and instead choose to whinge about modern football and how they'd just rather not be at most matches etc so could somebody not do them and us a favour and show them the door? Its clear some just can't move with the times!

Will Tyrone gave a mental block against Kerry? 08 last win. Just an observation not a wind up.

I actually expect to see Tyrone play a bit more football in this game away from the claustrophobia of playing Ulster teams. Kerry will have way too much for us, I mean just look at that bench ffs. That said I feel we can live with Kerry up to at least the first 50 mins, after that expect the Kerry machine to kick in. Kerry by 6 but looking forward to it as this is where Tyrone need to be to try and keep up with the big boys.

p.s. How nauseating is it to see the sycophantic Down love in with Kerry still alive and kicking, I realise times are tough but have you no pride left?

Johnboy7......when was the Shields incident? Didn't think a fella of his temperament would be pulling a stroke like that.

Kerry won an All-Ireland while in transition and will most likely at least reach the Final again.

I have never in my life witnessed a blanket defence like the one Tyrone deployed on Saturday. It was unbelievable and quite fascinating to watch. We couldn't get near their 'D' at all. Basically we could't get into the scoring zone. While Rory Beggan was preparing to take our kickouts Tyrone's half forwards and one midfielder were running back to defensive positions. I've never seen anything like it. They had 3 men on McManus at times. Kerry have 3 or 4 McManus's so not how Tyrone will set up. I predict Kerry will start Tommy Walsh and Donaghy and lump high ball into them. Going to be a great tussle.

Kerry should win this by a mile. The much better team at the moment.

With the build up to the game any soft frees going will go to Kerry, any dodgy cards will go to Tyrone. Tyrone's last semi final was preceded by an RTE led media furore and I'd expect the same outcome.
