AI Semi-Final Dublin V Mayo

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I agree Bennybunny. There was a very nasty element to Dublin and has been for some time. I find it ironic how Jim Gavin repeatedly claims Dublin play football like it should be played. I wouldn't like to see the spirit and determination shown by both sides overshadowed by off the ball incidents and what not but there are definitely some incidents which need reviewing:

How did Rory O'Carroll sustain his injury
Johnny Cooper's stamp on Diarmuid O'Connor
Diarmuid Connolly's red card
Some people said Philly McMahon threw an elbow so would like to see this incident
Several other off-the-ball incidents

Lots of 50/50 calls 4 da ref..thought he did ok but the cooper kick was a disgraceful decision. Dubs had their bench emptied wit 20 to go and ran out of steam badly-actually think Gavin is carrying the team backwards...where are the likes of Conor Mchugh etc. Why couldn't Mayo push all da way up on the dub kickouts-made no sense what they wer at givin dub free kickouts.

No Dublin fan can say that McQuillan didn't give them everything he could Brogan could have gone in the 1st half for punching in the head and Dubs it doesnt matter if he's tackling or not he punched with the closed fist to the head and the thigh high boot was dangerous
O Shea should have had a penalty So ye have nothing to bitch about Roll on Saturday Evening

No. They will rescind the Connolly red card decision though.

Ye know something bennybunny - I wouldn't be surprised if that's the only outcome of this weeks CCCC soirée.

Kerry will not fear either side in the final, how many good point scoring chances did Dublin give Mayo? If they win and do that in final Kerry will pick off points for fun.Mayo seem to be lacking a few forwards abd still look like they could be in trouble under the high ball in the full back line.

What part of Ulster is Cork for example in Longford poster. Just because you've read a put down somewhere and think it was good doesn't make it fit all situations

Did anyone think that Bernard Brogan 'point' in the first half was wide? If that is the case Mayo should be in an All-Ireland final.

Benched Ulster people are constantly crying. Get over it. There wasn't an Ulster team involved today and you are still crying

Dublin can count themselves extremely lucky to be still in championship, mayo did everything wrong and still drew even with mcquillan help dubs collapsed in last 10 minutes, perhaps the emperor has no new clothes after all ?
