embaressing by kildare....cant blame the dubs either....they should be much better than what they are....to be that far behind kerry and dublin shows that serious questions need to be asked fabio8 (USA) - Posts: 2182 - 03/08/2015 19:10:30 1763299 Link 0 |
Firstly to our Australian friend, you must not have been reading the Kildare forum on here since the first week in February because the ranting started back then and went right through the spring as relegation became more and more of a reality. So maybe a little bit of research is required before you start a thread! What happened to Kildare yesterday would have happened at 25 other counties and if I'm wrong why didn't they make a quarter final from some avenue?! It's far too easy and a bit lazy to open up on Kildare when all the same questions can be asked of lots of other counties. And calling amateur players who give up their free time to give their all to represent their county 'pathetic' shows a lack of class. It was a bad day for Kildare, simple as. kildare73 (Kildare) - Posts: 854 - 03/08/2015 21:28:13 1763424 Link 0 |
most counties dont have the population or resources that kildare have....kildare should be doing much better with what they have fabio8 (USA) - Posts: 2182 - 03/08/2015 21:43:32 1763444 Link 0 |
I feel a lot of sympathy for Kildare right now, they have good footballers, have showed that, but the steel is missing. And that's not an easy thing to acquire if it is not naturally there. But things will improve for them, of that I have no doubt! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8592 - 03/08/2015 21:50:09 1763454 Link 0 |
hilarious when people use the word 'unacceptable'!! like there is anything a lad typing on a keyboard can do apart from accept it!. You'd swear the players are paid by the fans and they all need to text us all an individual apology! It's a perfectly reasonable assumption right now to say that Kildare will win div 3 next year, lose to Dublin in leinster and with a kind draw, make the QF in 2016 making it another decent year for the 7th year in the past 9. switec (Kildare) - Posts: 525 - 04/08/2015 09:08:16 1763488 Link 0 |

Switec I agree and hope that the chaps are out enjoying themselves. Does that make them immune to criticism though? daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 04/08/2015 11:00:06 1763561 Link 0 |
Well put last couple of posters , there are many who analyse and when players fall short want a hanging , I would imagine most in the Kildare panel woke up yesterday morning and just wanted to pull the covers over their heads , they couldn't they have to face family friends and club folk . Criticism and praise go hand in hand , you never going to get one without the other , but these lads should get treatment deserving of an amateur , as for county boards they are the real ones who let down their following . Daytona--I think most of the criticism is of the perfect hindsight variety and seems to suggest that solutions are simple. Also 99% is not really thought through and more venting eg ' we never laid a glove on them, no red or black cards, a disgrace' -- red and black cards would mean less people on the field and 2-3 more goals for Kerry, I am glad the players did not make it any worse by succumbing to frustration and doing their team mates a disservice by getting sent off. switec (Kildare) - Posts: 525 - 04/08/2015 11:11:17 1763578 Link 0 |
How did Kildare defeat a Cork team that had drawn with Kerry? crikey (Australia) - Posts: 355 - 04/08/2015 12:37:47 1763641 Link 0 |
It was mostly to do with the 7 day thing Crikey. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 04/08/2015 12:52:38 1763655 Link 0 |
Cork's All-Ireland was in Killarney. Their year and training was geared towards it. They had nothing left to give v Kildare and didn't fancy another hiding from us so they packed it in. SeppBlatter (Dublin) - Posts: 187 - 04/08/2015 12:57:19 1763659 Link 0 |
Cant really blame the 7 day gap when cork only had a 6 day gap. Thats just how the draw is at the min. DoireCityFC (Derry) - Posts: 1580 - 04/08/2015 13:07:28 1763670 Link 0 |
Defeats are part and parcel of the game switec, but conceding 7 goals in one half of football should set alarm bells ringing for any county reaching the quarter final stage. Its too easy to say its no big deal, forget it and go on to next year like it won't happen again. This wasn't a hard luck game or Kildare put in a good account of themselves, this was a mauling of the highest order and it was the second Kildare faced in 2 months. keithlemon (Australia) - Posts: 920 - 04/08/2015 18:31:40 1763951 Link 0 |

Keithlemon what county are you from? Stop hiding behind Australia and nail your colours to a mast! Let's analyse your county's performance down the years and see what their shortcomings are! There isn't a county down the years who hasn't gone through a lean run. kildare73 (Kildare) - Posts: 854 - 05/08/2015 12:39:47 1764270 Link 0 |
