No All Ireland in Dublin this year

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

My money is on Donegal. I feel there a bit like Tyrone in 08 and believe there is another All Ireland in this team before they break up. Dublin have class forwards but a bit leaky in the full back line.

Listen Kerry lads

We know you don't like the attention

But save the lies

Just be honest... No one buys the BS on here

You are in a bloody great position

Just enjoy it

You are going to do back to back AI's...

Mayo will be your main threat but you have that defensive thing nailed now

You'll swallow up Mayo up front

Kerry certaintly have to be favourites to be fair. Not just because of the 7 goals, their system is excellent. Kildare didn't get a sniff at the posts inside the 45 year line. . Kerry's bench is savage this year despite the number of older lads.. as regards to Dublinds, yesterday was a strange game and it was never close.. game was well over before the 2 soft goals.. We still looked a little vulnerable defensively but they never got out of first gear yesterday and they didn't have too.. I'm happy people are writing us off.. mayo or Donegal will be a huge challenge, if we perform to our ability we should win.

Kerry are a good team but we have problems 2 35 year olds in the full back line an unconvincing GK. Donegal are the team to beat.

So just because we kept our first clean sheet (and 2nd in total for the whole year) we are all of sudden good defensively, nope. We had the worst defence in Div 1 by a lot and gave up 2 goals to Tipp (should have been 4/5) and 3 to Cork, the bad weather in the replay masked the weakness in our defence.

You reference our older players, how can a 35 yr old survive in the wide open spaces of CP? He can't and we have 2 starting and more on bench our lack of speed in middle 3rd and FB Line will be ruthlessly exposed by all the teams left. All the footpassing in the world won't save us

Lots of football to be played yet and no one knows where Sam is going yet.
Dublin are better placed at present than Donegal or Mayo. Both will have to give all on Sat night to win , always the risk of injuries, red card and suspension
It's very hard to pick a winner in the Saturday night match never mind who can win the semi /////// Dublin v Donegal/ Mayo
As regards Kerry I would ignore yesterday Has anyone ever see a team to throw in the towel like Kildare ??? Never left a hand on a Kerry player
Whoever comes out of Sats game Mon v Tyrone can still give Kerry a game What I saw of Monaghan over the last few years they won't lie back and admire you
There will be no easy ball won against them, they will set up with a proper , discipline defensive structure plenty of hard hitting with a proper scoring machine up front.
A lot of people think Tyrone are ageing but we know how they can handle Kerry and once again Kerry will have to answer the Northern challenge.
We will see how Mayo does Sat night , beat Donegal and they are definitely in the race for Sam
My take on this game is :::::: how will Donegal set up ???? Will they do what they done in the Ulster final, especially in the first half retreat , leave the Mayo goalie to kick the ball to whatever back he wants , let him carry it 50mts or so and then attack the ball I think they migh go that way at the start as it will be hard for Mayo to get their running game going with so many players inside the Donegal 50 line. Mid field will be important here and what I saw over the last quarter on Saturday against Galway ( indeed same thing in the Ulster final) Donegal are still in the race for Sam.
Considering what Kerry scored yesterday and what we concede against them in last year's final ( 1-2 and goal stupid defending in the first half) with 7 points plus a gifted goal in the second half if we won on Sat night we are bang there
WE HAVE THE BEST DEFENSIVE SYSTEM OF THE TEAMS LEFT, 1-9,0-8,0-10,0-11 and 0-11 are the scores Donegal have conceded so far , we indeed can get beat but we also can win Sam

If Mayo can account for Donegal and our good selves then I'd really fancy them to win it out, Kerry's path to the final is not as clear cut as some people may think.

If Donegal prevail? I'm not sure who'd win between them and Dublin!

I still believe Dublin will win the AI. They dident bother to show their true potential on Sunday. They dident have to. The gained more from Sunday than Kerry did. Kerry will have gained absolutely nothing from Sunday.

Dublin haven't showed any sort of true potential because with the players we have out, accompanied with big game players nowhere near their previous level has dictated that lack of performance.

KY not just because of your first clean sheet but because Kildare did not get a sniff at the posts from within the 45 yard line for the majority of the game! The fact O'Sé and O'Mahony are 35 does not matter when you crowd out the defence, they are not relying on speed or agility in a packed defence. Who would have thought the great Kerry doing a blanket ;) ;)

Then Kerry have the class going forward, look you are in a super position, nothing is won yet though. I don't think Dublin have shown their full hand yet and will be ready for a big performance in the semis....maybe I am being naive!!

Defending champions don't tend to make the final. If Dublin get past Mayo or Donegal, they are more than capable of beating Monaghan or Tyrone.

Ah Christ, would you give us a break? You are about as covert as a glass door.

Do you actually think what you say on here is going to make a difference as regards who wins the all Ireland?

We know you believe you can win sam, and that you have a great chance of doing so this year. Spare us the routine, it is tiresome.

Kildare were as useful as a chocolate fireguard the last day which was just an embarrassing capitulation in my opinion.Sam is coming back to the capital.

This Dublin and Kerry bluffing is incredibly tiresome at this stage. Patronising rubbish. "Your arrogance offends me".

I have to take exception to that

Simply giving my opinion

I have stated for many months that I feel it would be a Kerry v Mayo final

Long before Dublin were even in a semi-final

From what I've seen it only has convinced me more that we wont make the final

Hence starting this thread

I must admit that I find it amusing that for those who feel it wont make a difference, which of course my opinions on an internet site will make zero difference, they do seem to be getting upset about it...

If it's meaningless then treat it as such and don't be worrying about having a go at me for no good reason...

I honestly believe we wont make a final...

Fair play Liam...

Finally a man with a bit of sense!

You don't just turn it on... and Dublin are nowhere near their 2013 level

Laughable that those who think it meaningless are the very ones getting upset about it

You couldn't make it up...
