Dublin v Fermanagh

Very biased ref on show there. That first goal was nothing short of farcical. Dublin never even got out of 1st gear. After all the dust has settled it'll still show fermanagh lost by 8. Also thought the fermanagh man celebrating the 2nd goal was poor taste. If a Dublin player done it people would be saying it's arrogance and poor sportsmanship.

Well done Fermanagh on a gutsy display. Ye really exposed Dublin at midfield and at the back. Great display from a Division 3 team. Dublin are a poor enough outfit and will be found out by Mayo or Donegal the next day. Really poor form by the Dublin fans on the hill booing throughout the game.

Gutsy performance from Fermanagh, although I they will look back at 9 wides in the first half and some bad mistakes in the 2nd half and feel they could have done more. Inexperience is part of the problem, and I felt Cassidy in particular stood off Brogan far too much and on replay will feel he could have done much better.

Dublin are as expected, and looking good.

Plenty to work on

2-20 from play - that's a plus

Conceded a couple of comedy goals

Ok one was a free out but the other was silly

Overall not sure of at least 10 frees awarded to Fermanagh

It was one of them... Give the loser team all the calls sort of game

Sort of embarrassing really...

Well done to fermanagh for a very gutsy effort. Never going to win the game, but they certainly competed with style despite the gulf. Actually although it was a one sided day in croke park in both games, it still was a good add for the game. All we need is a bit of competition now and we can get excited for the right reasons.

Dublin were in a no win situation there today, job done.

Don't get this attitude that it's better for Dublin that they didn't completely hammer Fermanagh. If I were a Dublin fan I'd be a bit concerned about their defence.

The commentators and panel on RTE did their best to try and talk up Fermanagh so that the two games were no farcical.
Dublin and Kerry won at a canter. Miles ahead of the opposition.
The GAA are in big trouble now as football has gone the same way as hurling with only a handful of teams capable of winning the All Irelands.

As a galway man I can see fermanagh troubling us next year when we go looking for promotion to div1.

Fair play to Fermanagh.Never threw the towel in.Fought hard until the final whistle.Showed no fear.As a Dub,im a little worried now.Didnt create many goal chances today. Our forwards werent ruthless in this aspect, especially in relation to Kerry. We didnt dominate the middle, and one again,i think Kerry have the edge in this area.Still, job done and we move onto semi final v Donegal/Mayo.Kerry were the big winners today.Put in a very impressive performance.

Job done, that's all that's to it. Bernard is back, that's for sure. A bit sloppy at times. What an incredible refereeing decision though. Surely there must be some accountability for officials operating at this level. That was totally farcical. Luckily we were home and dry at that point. I expect to see a much better performance from us against Mayo or Donegal. Plenty to work on and that result will ensure that we won't be complacent in the semi.

Well done fermanagh. people need to remember population wise it is like a area similar to the size of blandshardstown taking on a county with a massive choice as dublin though

Was at the qualifiers last night. I was not overally impressed with donegal. I know dublin were poor in second half in terms of finishing off the game but donegal went into the game last night even at half time, and scored two late(ish) goals to seal the victory. They also have a lot to improve on. The real test for them is mayo next week. mayo are like dublin and have not been tested also. Cork have to be the saviour of the GAA as if you took them to ulster their would be no competition for kerry as mayo and dublin have in their own counties

Farcical referring from start to finish , Fermanagh were given free after questionable free for the duration of the match. The goal was nothing short of disgraceful, the umpire team and the ref should never be allowed inside Croke Park again. After watching some of the officiating this year who can honestly blame Brian McIver for walking away.

Sorry muckross that I don't tow the whole everything about ulster is so wonderful line but if a dub did that the offended by everything brigade would be spitting bile about it. It's bad sportsmanship whatever way you dress it up. 2 comical goals don't dress over the fAct fermanagh were well beat by the 45th minute. they were gutsy no doubt about that but that's the least you'd expect from a team in the 1/4 finals.

Posts like this remind me that not everyone understands what sport is actually about. If all you are interested is stats and winning margins, I'd suggest that you'd get more enjoyment from reading a sports almanac, rather than actually watching games.

Fermanagh's fans and players had a great day in Croke Park, and all can go home with smiles on their faces. They were never going to win, but they gave it everything they had, and played the game in the right spirit. Both managers clearly appreciated this fact too, judging by their warm discussion at the final whistle, and the Dubs fans/players entered into the spirit of it also.
