When does an All-Ireland medal count?

I think it would be an individual thing to the player involved and what that medal means to them , what they went through in their careers to get there, If they picked it up as a young lad it mightn't mean so much at the time, but if they didn't win another for their career then it might mean a lot after they retire, If they soldiered hard and picked up a medal at the end of their career but didn't get game time, they may still have had an important influence on the squad and the medal might mean a lot to them, Everyone on the winning squad should be entitled to a medal, what it means to each individual is a personal thing

A player himself within is the only person who knows the merit of his medal , he will know if he contributed , some players it will come down to play time , others are of a different mind set , as for bryanadams silly child .

One example I can think off is Michael Rice. Didnt play in 2014. Does that mean he doesnt get an All Ireland medal?
