Galway football on the rise

@AlwaysMayo - Given your full back line is almost as bad as ours, I'd hold off the sniggering if I was you.

Galway are indeed Connachts most successful team at All Ireland level but to not have won a game in Croke Park for 15 years now is unacceptable for a county like Galway. I was at that game in 2001 and the smoke was still rising from ground zero. I don't think anyone would believe you if you said by 2016 Galway would still be looking for a win at HQ.

Now that won't last and they will win again but you got to make it happen...not just assume it will. As for ourselves yes we need to land Sam soon or we may suffer another spectacle of watching our neighbours go up and bring Sam over the Shannon.

I genuinely thought that Galway were in with a decent shout yesterday but it was a bit of a reality check. I think mayo are still a good bit ahead of Galway and will win connacht next year again. Galway are not physically strong enough at donegal's level. Also backs are still dodgy. Midfield was also very weak in the secon half on Saturday.

Id agree with james horan when he says galway haven't improved on last year. That isnt to say they havent improved in general, but i think mulholland had these green shoots last year, but because walsh is one of the galway old favourites, he is getting the credit for it...

yes Galway moving forward and unforced errors in the second half were costly against a good Donegal team. Mc Fadden was unreal. Galway need div. 1 status to play this type of opposition regularily. Looks like the 70's at the moment with Kerry/Dublin ruling
