Im not one to regularly agree with Joe Brolly or quote him, but I do agree with what he said last night. Fermanagh have serious heart. I'm delighted that they are still in it. What makes it more impressive is that ye have had a big few retirements over the last while, Barry Owens and Shane Lyons come to mind. supermon (Monaghan) - Posts: 1073 - 27/07/2015 13:00:09 1759653 Link 0 |

Fantastic achievement for Fermanagh, they are always hard team to beat when they get on a roll. Will hold no fear of the Dubs and will give it a go. But without raining on their parade it will be a game too far but what a great season and Div 2 next year will bring them on further. Looking forward to seeing the great colour they will bring to Croke Park. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 27/07/2015 13:33:22 1759672 Link 0 |
I think the population is around 30k catholics. Over 50k in total. Still though, I think the likes of st vincents GAA in Dublin have access to more than 30k in their parish. And you would imagine some club teams in Dublin are capable of beating fermanagh. Still though, it is a super achievement and they will be full of confidence on Sunday. Just hopefully they stick with the dubs for the first 20 mins. Every game fermanagh have played this year has been against a sweeper defensive system so potential to get blown away in the first quarter. Fermanagh have done well to get to the quarter final, westmeath were terrible all over the field saturday their worst performance of the year, and fermanagh were slightly better. Im afraid though dublin will have at least 15-20 points to spare on sunday diceyreilly (Donegal) - Posts: 9 - 27/07/2015 15:47:02 1759804 Link 0 |
Many people took no notice of Fermanagh when Pete McGrath said his team would still be playing football in August. What he's done this year has certainly been the story of the championship, Fermanagh people deserve a big day out in Croker and I hope they really put it up to the Dubs. Regardless they have had a terrific year and can look forward to next year with something to really build on. ShortGrass_1 (Kildare) - Posts: 223 - 27/07/2015 17:25:33 1759898 Link 0 |
We have a population of 60k and of that 35k are catholic. A great achievement by pete mcgrath and his team. Molaise (Fermanagh) - Posts: 96 - 27/07/2015 18:13:01 1759935 Link 0 |
Have my accommodation booked for semi's we are going all the way. Dubs aren't some dream team ... What have they ? 2 all Ireland's in 25 years and they have no bottle once somebody puts it up to them Leinster is a joke championship. A bunch of soft city boys. I fear though we will play the ref and Hierarchy aswell as media as they don't want the big earning poster boys gone so early ! Predict 3 dub black cards not given by half time and litany of ferm frees not given and we prevail by 3 AnBuachaillGlas (Fermanagh) - Posts: 287 - 28/07/2015 10:11:20 1760088 Link 0 |
