personally i hope "Star" starts the all-ireland final if we make it .

PG was the winning of the game for kerry the last day ... he offers much more to the Kerry attack that Star does . if ya need a goal with ten to go throw on star , otherwise the bench is the place for him !!

Was he carrying injury? He got 2 points against Kildare in 1st half and then talking off at half time in that game?

Geaney has to start the next day, he'll always kick scores but its the affect he has on players around him that is more important. He has great movement and great hands and seems to bring out the best in players around him mainly the Gooch.

Geaney had a back injury. Worked out a treat that he was able to have a big second half.
Donaghy tried his heart out but it just didnt work out for him and Mayo and Dublin wont have as many defenders around him as Tyrone did.

But I agree looking at it from the outside Paul Geaney should start before Star.
Also a lad who has done nothing wrong has been Barry John Keane. He had a good Munster Final but got dropped for the replay for a horses for courses but has not got his place back....But what a great impact sub to have

If Mayo make the final, I have no doubt Donaghy will start. We would more than likely would have won the drawn game last year before him and he had a massive influence in the replay and final. Geaney is definitely the more rounded player and has earned his chance to start the final but it may be a horses for courses situation and they won't drop Cooper or JOD.

If Dublin win and they get a handle on O'Shea, I would expect Geaney to start but if they win and still struggled with him, Donaghy could start. It's not as easy as saying Geaney is the better all-rounder or offers more. The only alternative is to drop O'Brien or Buckley and bring Gooch out to half forward, but that would be really harsh on them too.
