James O'Donoghue the best forward since Mikey Sheehy...

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

There are so many different types of forward that it is impossible to say that there is a "best" forward around.

If we look at the top names of the present day, O'Donoghue, Star, Connolly, McManus etc they are all very different both in their style & the roles that they play.

Would O'Donoghue be any use at the edge of the square in the way Star is? I don't think so.

Let's all agree that he is a very good young player, one amongst many, and leave it at that.

Jimmy Barry Murphy in his prime was the best corner forward in the game.Fabricated goals from nowhere...such as the one he scored in the 1973 final.
Played in an era where Kerry were dominant, and subsequently devoted his allegiance to hurling.
A class forward...supreme in creativity

Brogan, Connolly, Murphy, McManus and O'Neill would be superior and I wouldnt swap any of them for him.
Very good player that he is.

Immature young fellah!.....Calling SAM "our cup" after beating Tyrone to get to AI Final......he learned a lesson in humility a few weeks later though which will hopefully stand to him!
