Like to wish Mick Lillis all the best in the new role...

He has had great success no matter where he has went and if he can get the right back room team behind him and all the players who are available especially a few more from Portlaoise then I believe he can have a good year.

If and its only if they beat wicklow it looks like its Dublin in Portlaoise what a great night that would be for the GAA and Laois a full house in O'Moore Park!

Think again John that ship has already sailed winners of Laois/ Wicklow will have to give up home advantage to suite the Dublin footballers and play in Nolan park. The first thing Laois county board should have done this morning is pull the two county men selected for the Ireland team off the panel; there is no point in playing with lads from other Leinster counties that are going to have there county boards voting against you. Of course who ever wins the Laois /Wicklow game should have had home advantage end of story. in recent years you did not see the hurlers of Kilkenny, Galway or any other county going around counting the seats of O' Moore Park they were happy to be playing in a central venue and a good pitch

All the best to Mick Lillis .......not a huge line of candidates going for the job by all accounts I wonder why(maybe its to do with the ridiculous state our underage system is in from a development point of view)

Prediction: And u heard it here first......we scraped Div 2 status, I think we will be relegated to Div 3 .......where we will stay for quite a while if we are lucky...... Div 4 could be looming in 5 years
u14,u16,Minor,u21,club scene in dire state I have to say a new low is coming and Mick Lills is not to blame folks

We do not have the quality at any level unfortunately

Lads what is your opinion of Colm Begley as a footballer?
I have never seen him playing well for Laois and yet he is always picked on every team, Leinster, Ireland etc. I think he is over rated.
Maybe I haven't seen him playing enough and I'd love to hear from some lads who have seen him play a lot.

I think he plays well for Ireland. He has scored some lovely points / overs in past series when the team has been struggling to get scores

I am guessing by the silence of all the Laois lads here that you agree with my post.
Just wondering lads!

Mick Lillis seem to be building a nice squad of players he has got back Gary Walsh Kieran Lillis Paul Cahilanne ,added Paul Cotter Gareth Dillion and David Seale from Portlaoise..A poor start against my own county but they won the second half of that game and continued the form against Armagh ..With the Powerful trio of former Ozzie rules players Brendan Quigley, Conor Merdith and Colm Begley to come back along with the man Mountain that is John O'Loughlin of st Mary's in Dublin and of course the Ever green Ross Munnelly then I think they could be a force in this league...

At home to Tyrone next Sunday will test them and will probably be too soon for the five mentioned above but they could well be in the league shake up yet!

Caught the challenge match between Laois and Westmeath. Laois are in good shape under Mick Lillis seem to be singing off the one hymn sheet small management set up and playrs buying in apart from the questions about Strength and Conditioning guy at the start

Westmeath in a bad place me thinks

I don't know will Brendan and Meredith have a huge amount to add this year both will have a lot to do with attitude and fitness
Man mountain will come under pressure come summer also far to much fouling and mouthing plus game has speeded up so much

Strange choice. Appears to be an all Tipperary BACKROOM team to. Word on the street had it that John Evans was a shoo in for the job with a very strong BACKROOM team from various counties but with Laois selectors.
