It's no surprise dubs are delighted with mcquillans constant appointmets....he handed them there first Sam in a long time in 2011...like Craig Joubert down in NZ, he bottled it in front of the home crowd that were under pressure to deliver the trophy after a long wait. It won't make any odds too Sundays game tho. Dubs will win by 20 pts no matter who is ref

This is the same ref who gave 32 frees to Mayo to 12 frees for Dublin in the '13 final one of the most one sided refereeing displays I've ever seen but sure why bring that up and ruin a good thread.

Clondalkin Dub,

But Dublin fouled more that day. That's the reason Mayo got more frees.

In all honestly we haven't 1 decent ref and we from Mayo have plenty to complain about but I'd say the Westmeath story is to put pressure on Joe not to give soft frees to the AllIreland champs in waiting, it won't matter an winch as Dublin will win easily but hopefully it will be still close at halftime

___________

Or his performance in the 2012 Semi-final...

But the couple of calls he missed in the 2011 final is all we hear about

He missed a few calls in Dublin's favour that day too

Not awarding a penalty for touching the ball on the ground in the small square for one... for some reason giving a free in instead?

Where that's a stone wall peno..

It' just another easy hear say culchie excuse and feeds into a long list of poor mouth excuses

What we do to secure our own funding is down to the hard work of Dublin GAA

Many counties have spent millions chasing success and find themselves in financial ruin because of it

Kildare, Mayo... two prime examples..

Yet they still play the poor mouth, poor us card.

Change the record lads...

Dublin has it's house in order... We should not have to just hand over our own resources to the likes of Kildare / Mayo

Who only have themselves to blame for their own predicaments

Of course not, sure he was too busy commenting on articles about Dublin during his own county's fixture.

Fits in well around here Jimbo with the amount of idiotic threads there have been of late.

This is not a story lads, no-one in Westmeath is complaining so would have to question the motives of whoever is trying to fan this into a story

You're right there Ban , some people can't help themselves. OP is obviously a bit of a wind up merchant and only looking for a bit of attention.
What's more is the ridiculous rubbish that gets put up for discussion on here. As you say it's got little credibility left and a lot of the time it's just whinging and bitching going on.

What amazes me is any county objecting to a referee appointment. Its Alex Ferguson like, we only want to be reffed by x, y and z referee.

All referees need to ref games to keep sharp. So to think they wouldnt ref games is silly.

The likes of TheMaster love these threads. So far, nobody has ever produced a shred of "actual" evidence to support the accusation McQuillan reffed training games. And if he did, so what? There is no Dublin ref on the S3nior intercounty panel, are th3 gaa screwing Dublin?

Fact is James Horan came out with this before the 2012 semi to put pressure on the ref. It worked. McQuillan wouldnt give Dublin a free and the Mayo lads dived and feigned injury all the second half. Id say McQuillan reviewed that tape and was embarrassed by his performance. Well done to James Horan, hook line and sinker!

Pat McEnanay was invited up to give Tyrone tips on tackling numerous times. Went on to ref Tyrone late4 that year. Nobody batted an eyelid.

Westmeath are trying to influence and put pressure on the ref.

Is Coldrick reffed they'd say hes biased towards Dublin because hes a Meath man. Mind games!

Jimbo, why do you always start talking about the poster's county in response to genuine posts that concern dublin? It shouldn't be allowed by the admins to be honest, it is a complete diversion tactic.
