Is beating Dublin bigger than winning Sam?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Beating D'Unbeatables would take some beating alright, but an All Ireland would just about shade it.

Hahahaha I never once said we were the best team right now I merely said is it bigger than winning Sam beating Dublin ? Geez some of you's need to lighten up , read every past players book he spends more time talking about beating Dublin than winning Sam (Owen Mulligan for example) Mayo realised a DVD they'd already been to 5 finals the last ten years and no DVD's about them semi final wins. Kerry are the kings of football but I guarantee you if a county was given the option of beating Dublin or Kerry on there way to winning Sam they'd pick Dublin every time.

4kh my man and would '91 be a famous year only for Dublin were bet most people can't even remember who won Sam that year, but they can remember Kevin Foleys goal.

Is there anything worse than a Dub full of his own self importance.

Yes, a Lilly wallowing in his own self pity.

Silly silly question. ..dubs won 2 out of last 19 all irelands ...same as galway +meath ...less than tyrone and a lot less than kerry???

----
......very true yet all we see on here are endless threads about splitting Dublin up and their many, many advantages over other counties.

You keep banging on about this dvd that nobody else is aware of. Any evidence to support this?

As for your claim. Why? 10 times the resources of their nearest rivals and they have 2 all Irelands in 20 years. Sound like a bunch of bottlers to be honest about it.

I think to keep clondalkindub happy we should just all agree that yes beating Dublin is better than winning the All-Ireland and move on. Seem like he really needs this.

Most ridiculous questions ever. Mayo regularly beat Dublin in Championship. Unfortunately, it means nothing when we don't win Sam

That Down team from 91 has to be one of the best GAA teams of all time. McCartan, Linden, Blaney,Carr, Conor Deegan, DJ Kane, Peter Withnell. Some team in fairness. Great to see them beating the Meath in an enthralling team as well. Meath were the team of the 90s but Down were right on their coat tails!

Beating the Dubs and not winning Sam is a bit like going to a strip club
Its great crack at the time and good for a bit of banter with your mates
but its not the real deal

On the day I would have said yes, we already had two All Irelands but had never beaten the "Unbeatables" in their own back yard with a great performance that no one could begrudge.

As an occasion I would say it was the happiest day of my GAA life, but it was only one day.

In the overall scheme of things winning Sam trumps beating Dublin every day of the week.

Wow. It takes a special kind of conceit to start a thread such as this.
