I don't know what's happening to Meath and Kildare football. There's no excuses for both counties to be as far back as they are. Both counties have large population to pick from. Where it took talk of splitting the Dublin Region in two, will it take talk of joining Kildare and Meath together for them to get their respective houses in order?

Meath (short 6 of their team) beat Wicklow by 5, Kildare beat a supposedly decent Laois team by 13, both are preparing for leinster semi finals Sunday week so at least wait until then before writing our obituaries

It was a great challenge for Meath to play a team interest in playing football and not the type of puke we faced against ultra defensive teams like Roscommon and Cavan and down. So it was great to go man to man, this will have helped us no end for the 12 July, and Westmeath will only bring us on further.

What are Meath at on the 12th of July? Are you going North for the day RD?


Anyway what has happened to Meath? Under Boylan they wouldn't have given up a 2 point lead never mind a 9 point lead with 20 minutes to go.

To be fair and it has to be said you have expressed your hatred of Meath in the past gotmilk (we've been through that before), which your entitled to do of course. But give genuine credit to Westmeath, don't be happy for them because you hate us, be happy for them because they done brilliantly to come back and made history.

Ps, I don't think Meath fans ever thought we were already in the Ulster Final to be fair :-)

Haha htaem that was a typo on my part. Few of them thought they were in the Leinster final though. Here I am delighted for Westmeath. It's always great to see the underdog win out. They played some great football today. Martin is a cracking footballer. Glennon coming off the bench was superb. I think Westmeath have to be admired. Considering where they were after the league finished, to be competing in a leinster final is some turn around. Anyway fair play to Westmeath. Give hope to all small counties.

Very true Htaem. If the westmeath boys were looking for inspiration all they had to do was come on to this site and see what some of the posters were saying. What has happened meath though? Growing up meath were known as a side that were hard to beat. What has happened to you?
