Kildare v Dublin

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Kildare have implemented this 'tuning system' at half time that helped them blitz Laois in the second half. This is all the more pertinent against the Dubs who wear teams down in the second half. Will it be effective so as to cause a shock? Can anyone hazard a guess as to what this tuning system is?

For this game to be anything but an embarrassing mismatch, Kildare will have to prevent Dublin from building a big lead.

To achieve this, the lilies will have to be up to the pace of Dublin from the start, avoid panic, and keep their concentration levels at a premium. This level of intensity must be maintained throughout the game, therefore, physical fitness levels and mental preparation will be crucial.

Now while Kildare seem to have improved their physical conditioning under Ryan, the question is, have Kildare the capacity to retain composure, under the pressure of a relentless Dublin attack?

Kildare have to attack, attack attack, hit Dublin where they are weakest, If the whole mindset is containment and damage limitation then we are just inviting them on and waiting for the inevitable, Yes we have to get our defensive set up correct to give us the platform to attack, but getting our attacking strategy right is just as important as getting the defensive side right, Also we need to go long with our kickouts, Don't invite the Dublin press high up the filed, Hit Moolick and Cribbin down the field with kickouts into the Dublin half an play from there.

Kildare to win by two. Better team than the dubs. We'll see Dublin in the qualifiers this year

Looking ahead to next Sunday I wonder what kind of support the other 3 counties will bring? Kildare n Meath always had big numbers but the last few years there support isn't half of what it use to be for obvious reasons.

Good point, and I have noticed interest in GAA declining in Kildare.

Young lads in the county are turning to soccer and rugby, and who can blame them for not playing Gaelic football, when one team has all the advantages.

Leinster needs financial investment in counties outside of Dublin before the game dies completely.

Meath v Westmeath will bring in a decent crowd I'd imagine as well as ourselves and the Lillywhites too. I think there 50,000 odd the last time we played with Meath and Wexford on beforehand too so should be in and around the same?

Only the die hards from Kildare will be travelling. 4k at a push and even that might be optimistic.

Does anyone know what this tuning system Kildare have at half time?

Dublin are the type of team that will ride their luck time and time again and the heads will go down if they concede early goals. The team lacks character and mental resolve and this has always been the case. Kildare are in with a far better chance than the bookies give them and I can see their fine tuning system helping them to retain their concentration for the full 70 minutes. Kildare to win by 3 points.

What a load of bull!!,any team that's wins 2 all Irelands in 3 years does not lack character and mental resolve, did the heads drop in 2013 v Kerry after conceding early goals?

I can only presume this was a tongue in cheek comment looking for a reaction?? If it wasn't you need to go back to sleep Jimin. Kildare by 3 points?? I think the Bookies will be delighted to take your money if thats your prediction for the game. Kildare will put it up to Dublin but their Challenge will last as long as Limericks did yesterday

Believe me lily i would love to say or even think differently. I think the 2 games against Laois will bring Kildare on but i can't see them putting it to the Dubs. Can't see Meath or Westmeath putting it up to them either to be honest
