Confirmed to be shown live on RTE 2,Sat.Excellent.Im travelling down the country on Sat to visit the folks so excellent evenings sport to look forward to.On the game itself, once again i find it very difficult to call with any degree of certainty.I am edging towards a Galway victory.Im not sure if some of Galways injured men will be fit to play but i was impressed with their overall application and spirit last Sunday. They were unlucky not to score a couple more goals, especially with Joe Cannings glaring miss towards the end of 1st half.Joe wasnt near his best.Injury aside,i would expect a big improvement from him on Sat.Rarely do the best players have 2 poor games on the trot.If Peter Kelly doesnt recover,Joe could do some damage in around the square. Will Galway put Coen on Schutte again?Coen is a tough cookie and will want to right the wrongs of last week. The tighter surrounds of O Connor Park might suit him.Collins will want to up his game also.Harte was the best midfielder on show last day.Johny McCaffrey needs to become more involved.Rarely has he ever dominated a game.At this stage i dont think hes able to,but a big improvement is needed. Its time to swap Rushe and Keaney. Both have played their most ineffectual hurling in their current positions.Up front,Dublin need more from Treacy,O Dwyer,Dotsy and Rushe/Keaney.Schutte and Sutcliffe will be marked men and its time for a couple of the others to chip in with regular scores.
Really looking forward to this game. The drawn game was not of the highest quality, but for sheer effort, determination and excitement,it left me with a taste for more.Tullamore, rather than Croke Park, may give a small advantage to Galway.Surely a lot more of their supporters will make the journey and together with the Laois/Kildare fans,we may find ourselves well outnumbered.I called a draw the first day.I hope im wrong but my prediction for Saturday is for Galway to win by 3-16 to Dublins 1-18.

Have to say pleasantly surprised the replay is televised. Should be a very tight tense game. Sunday's match will have brought both teams on, but hopefully our injuries have healed, and with joe six days fitter we'll be in a much better position.

It's still a tough game to call, but I think we can get the job done in tullamore. Hon the tribes!!!

Dubs have been at their best on the road this year

I can only see an improved performance

Dublin were very flat and IMO Galway were the better team in the last 15 minutes and should have pushed on and won the game

There's a few Dub players they won't be overly happy with their performance

Hopefully that drives them on

Can't afford to let Galway get on top over the last 15 again

We started poorly and finished poorly

Need to put that right

We'll need a few more goal chances... Once again we really didn't threaten a whole lot on the goal front

A major weakness that has been a persistent problem

Hopefully the quality of ball will be at the required level

Because it just wasn't there when it really needed to be

So fingers crossed for a better performance - start, middle and end!

Delighted its on Tv.I'm still going but it might just reduce the crowd a little for this double header which was sure to attract more than Tullamore could cope with..

Should make the TINY terrace a little more bearable

I think Dublin really need to win this by any margin. A competitive loss for Galway wouldn't be the end of the world. I see the 3 Burkes have been passed fit to play...

I think Galway might win this one, the advantage is with them after last Sunday. Big John, what is a tiny terrace?. The terrace in OCP runs the full length of the pitch.

Keeper7 can't you explain why? I'm not saying your wrong I just don't understand how a defeat for either team wouldn't be bad ?

Clondalkindub,

Even though they've a new manager, this Dublin team are on the road a good while now & need to be making that experience count in the championship. Galway are still a developing team. That's my opinion.

Yeah, Keeper 7, Galway are a developing team. Theyve been developing under this manager since 2012. If they make an early championship exit it's likely they will become a developing team under a different manager who will make his own changes to personnel. Defeat is unthinkable for Galway. It's now or never for this team.

Keeper7 fair enough but I disagree.

PoolSturgeon,

I think a run through the qualifiers like what Clare had 2 years ago could be good for Galway.

I think defeat for either side is unthinkable with the possibility of playing a top Munster side in the qualifiers ahead of the loser. A win sets up a good chance of a Leinster Final.

I think at this stage both teams will demand a performance. Neither got it the last day but the conditions were awful. Tactically neither sides used the wind to any avail.

Dublin need to swap Rushe and Keaney and think long and hard over Ryan starting. Frees are crucial in championship. Danny needs a big day too but comfort would be taken from the fact we didn't lose having been so bad. Galway would probably feel the same but Dublin almost certainly would have a lost with a similar performance a few years ago.

If Dublin can find a goal or two I'd give us a great chance but I've no confidence we will. Most likely a puck of a ball between them again.

I see RTE are televising this game on Saturday. Will many dubs & galway people make the trip on Saturday?

Both teams should perform better with the benefit of the game last Sunday. Dublin's performance wasn't anywhere near what they produced in the League semi Final against Cork, especially the first half that day, and that is what we will need come next Saturday. There is a lot of players that will need to step up from the last day, and we really need to threaten the Galway goal this time because for certain our own goal will be under heavy bombardment.

I agree JC has not contributed in some time, he looks like a guy who is seriously lacking confidence and needs to shape up or out plain and simple, at this game you are only as good as your last performance. I would bring Coen out to wing back and put collins corner, and bring in Burke wing back and drop Mac. Other change I would make is D Burke to 10 , Donnelan to 12 and Cooney to 11. I would put Smith & Harte mid. Glynn or Joe ff and same two corners. I going and really looking forward.

Surprised only two changes on Dublin team for this afternoon, Michael Carton replaces Peter Kelly at full back, and Paul Schutte back from injury at no 4. Huge improvement needed all over the field if the Dubs are to advance. Hope there isn't a storm blowing in Tullamore like there is in Dublin at the moment
