It's a credit to the Dublin supporters who are in Croke Park early to watch the hurling match, those who turn up late just to watch the football are just glory chasers and are no addition to our sport, stay at home and allow genuine Dublin supporters to enjoy the games in peace instead of hearing through the whole game who is that player? who is that player?

What a farce - I saw more intensity and passion in a U-12C game this morning!

Fair play to both teams, not the best game ever played, but entertaining. Danny Sutcliffe is some player. From a Galway perspective their wide tally was brutal (13 against Dublin's 8 I believe) and they left one or two goals behind them too.

Pearse for the replay? One home advantage begets another you'd think.

Riverboys: amazingly enough there are people in every dual county who prefer one code over another; it's a concept we dual county people are very familiar with and there's nothing wrong with it.

Now can we please keep this thread on track and talk about the game.

I left Croke Park when the football score was 1-6 0-1 and its a terrible mismatch a bit of a farce IMO. Anyway the hurling match (was what I wanted to see anyway) it was strange, there was certainly a lack of intensity from both teams but there was also some very good play. The result of this game ultimately is huge for both teams and I think that accounts for the caution in both teams play. Galway might rue their goal chances and Treacy will beat himself up over his missed free. I expect the replay to be the real deal and will stand to both these teams irrespective of the result. But you can't really fault either team and both will feel they have some improvement to make so expect replay to have more fireworks.

It may not have been a classic encounter but I relieved the bookies of a nice few euro at 9/1 for the draw. The replay is in tullamore next Saturday.

Didnt make it to games after all but watched both on RTE.The hurling went exactly as i thought it did.I predicted the long shot of a draw.Dublin 1-21 - Galway 2-18.I wasnt far off.I just couldnt call a winner beforehand.I thought Galway would show up and put in a good, solid performance. They didnt disappoint.Tenacious, strong in the tackle, bristling with energy, the tribesmen gave it their all.I said if Galway could keep Sutcliffe and Schutte quiet they would go a long way to winning. They failed on both fronts in first half.Schutte was excellent and his pace, strength and skill had his man in constant trouble.Galway reduced his impact after the break.Rush needs to get involved more, being largely reduced to sporadic moments of efficiancy.A peripheral figure for large parts. The jury is still out on his "forwards" experiment.Galway had strong performances from Tannion,Cooney,Donnelan and Mannion.Joe was a bit wayward at times but worked hard and scored important second half frees.Overall.it was a very enjoyable game with both teams leaving everything on the pitch.Lots to discuss and look forward to before next Sat in Tullamore.

After been at the kildare-kerry game and watched the dublin-galway game
my theory is kerry could possibly beat the pick of the two.

Nice summary Cue. Dublin were far more economical on the ball and made the most of their chances. Galway on the otherhand seemed to be too busy chasing goals which never came and as a result came away with neither goal nor point. Not the best game of hurling, but entertaining, at least from the point of view of either county playing.

Tullamore should be a thrilling encounter, which I still fancy the Dubs to take.

As an aside, I'm really enjoying Dublin's arrival on the main stage in hurling. It spices things up nicely, and they play some lovely hurling. Definitely my go-to team.

I enjoyed today's game but one thing that annoyed me was that in the two minutes of injury time, there were 2 throw balls, 2 frees and barely any hurling. It could have been a very enjoyable period of injury time if the referee had done like he had done for most the game and not interfered. He let worse go throughout the game so why all of a sudden start pulling up players for fouls and frees?

Think Galway left that one behind

Dubs struggled with poor supply into our forwards for last 15 minutes

Strange game... not overly enjoyable

Strange game but just like last weekend, the intensity improved as the game wore on and the Dublin supporters decided to pop in for a look....

I thought when Galway went 1-6 to 3 up they were going to hammer them. But fair play to the Dubs, they fought their way back into the match.

I thought Aidan Harte was really excellent for Galway while Schutte kept Dublin in it. If Galway get Canning fit for the replay and most importantly get him more into the game, then I think they will win the replay.

Horrible day for hurling, strong swirling breeze and driving rain in parts. I thought we were superb in the first half with drawing men back and winning the dogfight on the long wind aided Galway puckout. Schutte was superb and i was delighted going in one point down at the short whistle. The second half was pretty much a carbon copy of the first only Dublin were worse. Galway pulled men back and Dublin showed no invention to try get the inside men into the game. It was one long ball after another and i was disappointed with our second half display. What developed was a wrestling match with no real tactical ambition and Dublin were lucky to get a draw in the end given the way they played. Like i said before it was a terrible day for it and hopefully the replay will be much better fair.

Tribeinbrum,I can't say it with 100% certainty but I can with 99% certainty that it wont be televised. Early round replays are never televised, especially when they are being played at 4.45 on a Saturday afternoon.

I don't think the replay will be televised. On yesterdays game I have to say I was disappointed with Dublin. We have gone back since the league in my opinion and were lucky Galway didn't take their goal chances.I think Rushe is wasted in the forwards, he's an all-star centre back for Gods sake!
