McGhee brothers can't be judge properly as they have 13 other players in there half for most of a game protecting them , as Barry O Shea said last year " you could be 40 years old and still play in the Donegal full back line ffs"

Seany, my comments on GC had nothing to do with his on field antics.
It was off the field....remember?

Did he actually do anything wrong on Sunday, obviously he stuck to Murphy like a limpit but I saw it on tv so I dunno.

The 2 McGees are mighty defenders and would walk onto the Dubs team.
100%

Would see ROC shifted to corner back

Your comparing The Roc putting his hand in Gallaghers eye line for 30 seconds in the same bracket as McNulty's antics last Sunday wow

Thirty seconds!!!!

Your ability to bend facts, & now it appears time, is approaching Masteresque proportions.

Rory is indeed a fine player, mind you I seem to remember him engaging in the same marking "technique" as Justin McMahon last August against Neil Gallagher!!!

Id agree Muckross, he did put his hand up in front of Gallagher and Murphys face on a few occasions to wind them up, personally i didnt like it although it was mild compared to Mc Mahon on Sunday ,but for me theres no need for it.
No County team are angels and players in the heat of battle will do things they wouldnt normally do to win.Especially if there is needle going into a game.
I spoke recently to a Dublin player who played in that semi last year and he told me of MM and PB calling them names during the game that were eyeopening.
Possibly a few Dublin lads said some choice words as well.

Maybe If Posters here accepted when their County players have done wrong when the evidence is there, ,instead of just looking to shift blame , things wouldnt get as heated here and then maybe there wouldnt be half as many pages on here of repeatitive recriminations.
Also if other posters realised and accepted that their own counties are no angels and above blame, it wouldnt come across as sanctimonious and patronising when they are expressing their views on things ,that maybe they have a valid concern for.

ROC has fewer All Stars than All Irelands
A statistic that shows he has been carried by better teammates
He would'nt make the donegal full back line - 2 Mcgees then Lacey and McGlynn who have played at corner back are all clear cut options ahead of him-
Probably a reasonable debate who is better Paddy McGrath or ROC but any other comparison is senseless

Anyone that can claim he is the best FB of this or any time is just a WUM - outside of the Donegal team there are at many defenders that spring to mind who are much better - higgins/McMahon/Wylie/Mone/O Mahoney /Murphy/Cadogon/Cafferky/Foley + a dozen more

The best marking job i ever saw on Murphy (without crossing the line or holding or any of that stuff), was a young 19 year old defender from Antrim in the ulster semi final last year. It was an incredible display from the lad, and clean as a whistle as well. We all thought he was class that day.

Back to the subject, aye if you want to congratulate mcmahon go ahead, if thats all that you can take from a match against donegal that suits us fine. We have plenty of other scorers in any event, and sure Murphy can slot over a free under big pressure when he needs to, that will do us thanks.

Murphy will need to be good against Armagh because is it not the case this is a landmark match for Donegal. I think we would have to go back a long way to find the last time Donegal beat Armagh in the Ulster Championship. Was it not the case that Armagh won the Ulster Championship in 2006 having defeated Donegal... who they had then beaten in the ulster championship six times in a row. So if Armagh win it will be the seventh straight victory over Donegal in Ulster. Of course there was no Murphy back then but there was a lacey, Gallagher, a couple of fresh looking McGees and a less grey Christy Toye. So a win for Donegal will certainly put a dent in the very impressive record Armagh has over Donegal in Ulster as it stands

Sure Mc Mahon stop murphy from scoring frm play but if ther was any other half decent referee there that day he wouldn't have got away with it for so long.
The yellow card came far too late in the game.

Bit of a silly argument as been honest a Donegal man Murphy doesn't score that much from play against any defender in comparison to other prolific forwards, most scores are from placed balls...
