1727627 Great game of football. Cavan playing sensible football and look the better team. It goes to show the distinction between league and championship football. In terms of tactics and skill execution Cavan looking like the division 1 team. However, Monaghan still hold the aces which can condemn Cavan to defeat. Monaghan need to play McManus a little deeper to get him more involved in their game play to influence the game in their favour. Still all to play for.

The Ulster football championship is glorious.

Seems like a lively enough affair with Cavan leading by 4 as I just tune in. Surprised to see that really. Good luck to both teams by the way!!

Dessie Mone there took about 15 steps before throwing ball past his man. Never a peno.

Big goal chance for Hughes but he did well to get into the position and at least got his point.

Momentum has switched to Monaghan now.

A class, class footballer but can be occasionally gravationally challenged alright.

Well done Monaghan, the better team overall imo.

They'll need a huge improvement to beat Donegal in the Ulster final though.

Very enjoyable game. Strange that board had gone up for 3 minutes before Monaghan keeper was treated for around a minute yet he blew it up with 2m50 injury time played. Don't want to be too critical of ref though as overall I thought he did well. Monaghan had a bit more class but Cavan worked enough and created enough to win the game well.

Disappointing for Cavan. Could've won that game. Dunne should've lobbed it in. No point in going for a point at that stage. Hard luck. Monaghan had the rub of the green in the last quarter.

Good game of football. Monaghan played very well in the second half and Conor McManus is pure class, probably the best corner forward in the game today.Colin Walshe made a big impact in the second half.

Cavan wasted their wind advantage in the first half with poor delivery's into the full forward line.

What the hell was Martin Dunne at with the free at the end .I'd be absolutely furious if I was one of his teams mates. Really stupid thing to do when there was only 30 seconds left.

fair play to monaghan 20 mins to go were 4 down i think
stepped up when needed and mcmannus kicked some big points where as cavan had nobody up front to take the game
by the scruff in last 10 mins and see it out

Monaghan will be delighted with that result. They didn't look fired up at all and were nearly caught. I'd say they are relieved and well capable of a much better performance than that. Cavan will rue those late frees but also looked to ruin out of steam.
Well done Monaghan, ready run to the final now.

Hard loss for Cavan to take.I thought, over the 70 mins,Cavan were marginally the better team.Monaghan didnt impress me,although they stepped up in last 15 mins, which is a good testemant to their fitness and resolve.Nice, open game, with sprinkling of quality scores. This Ulster football could catch on yet:)

Have to say that was definitely a game that Cavan could and should have won. Cuteness and experience by Monaghan in working frees from a poor ref. was the difference. I would admit that McManus really showed his qualities today with some great scores. He really has a lot of qualities of a player like canavan particularly the ability to hit the ground when in a storable free position.

You'll be disappointed for sure but theres a lot of positives that Cavan can take from that game today, hard luck and regroup for the qualifiers now.

bit over the top there
the match last night in ennis was identical type of game
between clare and limerick
laois v kildare in leinster also has the makings of another similiar type of game
