How can a manager that won his county an all Ireland be holding them back? Come on he's missing 4 of his best players any team would struggle without them. McGrath alone is a freak of a hurler up there with the best of them he was a massive loss to Clare yesterday.

Davy has a little dig in his interview saying hes sure O'Grady is fine (which he was obviously).
But nothing about his sneaky wing back Pat O'Connor, he goes and meets Tobin with a shot and when Tobin hits back he hits the deck like hes been shot. I really hope hes embarrassed this morning after that.
Even Shefflin said it afterwards, if you just take the hit and do nothing your branded soft.
I no a lot wont agree but I would not consider that as a striking offence..

Shane Dowling has come out to say he thinks the result should have been a draw, that he thinks his point that the umpires were unsure about was a wide. I'm sure that will make Davy Fitz feel a lot better :)

Joe Bloggs,i agree with you 100% re the ahem, incident, that led to the second sending off.I would fear for the game if some of the posters on here who agree with Tobins red card become,or god forbid, are referees.

The point that the umpires were unsure about was a point as confirmed by RTE last night and Davy Fitg should have no complaints about more time as Graham Mulcahy had broken free when the final whistle was blown and was in a position to score an easy point.

Who were all the people writing Clare off that Davy Fitz referred to in his post match interview?

No problem at all, all opinions are valid. I just don't like use of the conditionals like if, could, should, would, but your second post on the matter highlighted areas you think we are weak.

The areas you highlighted are areas our own supporters would mention.

I think Limerick will beat Tipperary and Cork will beat Waterford and we will play Cork for the third year in a row. But thus far, my predictions have been rubbish so you could well be right and Tipp could take us.

Both were red cards. First one was a no brainer as not only did he hit someone once but did it twice! "a sure back in the day when men were men and wore sheepskin jerseys and brass wire for laces etc etc" give us a break. As for Tobin he didn't just clash shoulders he jabbed his bas into the other player unfortunately for him he did so in front of the officials, if a player is going to do something that stupid they deserve to walk.

Arick,if the Clare lad didnt hit the deck would you have issued a red?Ive no doubt if he remained on his feet there would have been no more action taken.Players now know that if they fall to ground after a bit of hip to hip jostling, theres a chance the official will send his opponent off.A worrying development. If the referee was as strict with the rules yesterday as he was for that silly decision,it would have finished 10 v 10.

If both players stayed on there feet instead of play acting there would of been no red cards.

Hitting the head with your hurley is a straight red.Every single time.It wasnt that soft either. He did it twice aswell.Donnellan has no grounds for complaint.

Donnellans old team mate Podge Collins was shown the line last year v Wexford for interfering with helmet face gard(if memory serves correct). The head/face/helmet is a no go area and Donnelan should have known better.
As for Tobin he looked genuinely shocked.Id say hes done the exact same thing in hundreds of games. When is the last time a player was sent off for a similiar action?I cant remember any.

Donnellan knew very well he had to go and the referee had no choice. Violence is not acceptable in the hurling pitch.

He tapped him under the chin there was nothing in it never a red card.

Brian O'Meara & Michael Jordan in the All-Ireland semi final replay of 2001 when Tipp beat Wexford 3-12 to 0-10. O'Meara missed the all Ireland final.

The two of them were just side by side and ended up flaking each other with the stick into the ribs.

Seemed innocent enough but then when slowed down in the TV replay, both were fairly letting each other have the boss of the hurley.

Wexford had 2 sent off that day, Tipp 1.

It was Liam Dunne and O'Meara who were sent off together, Jordan got the line for another incident.
Liam Dunne came out after and said it was his fault, there was nothing in it and O'Meara shouldn't miss the All Ireland over it.
And that was 10 times worse than the Tobin / O'Connor incident yesterday.

i think its fairly obvious why refs dont like clare and its not the clare players lads when you have a person arguing your every decision refs and linesmen it gets inside your head..its the one thing holding back clare from winning this years all ireland..even at that 14/1 is massive value..they nearly certs to be in the all ire q final..
