Funny that all provinces bar Leinster tend to support their own! Whats that about??

In hurling I would not mind to see Dublin or Limerick win the All ireland.

In football would love to see Care/Limerick or Tipp win this years Munster Championship.
For the AI wouldnt begrudge Mayo winning it out

Well as a Meath man living in Westmeath , id hate to see them doing anything, not cause of their players, one or two of the lads i coached at underage level so personally id be delighted for them, but the bloody neighbors /friends i wouldn't be able to go for a mineral for a year:).
All joking aside i have a soft spot for Louth (treason i hear been shouted) . And due to a long time respect for and playing against it has to be Down and Galway, all others can take a run and jump , but Down and Galway will always get my support if Meath no longer involved.

No one outside of Meath. Might side with the under dogs that's about it. Too many memories in the 90s of lads from Westmeath, Louth, Laois etc screaming their heads of for Dublin back when we were putting it up to them.

Not here - loved that Meath team. Real men. Born winners. Possibly the first team to bring a professional attitude to the GAA. Boylan was a brilliant manager but was lucky to work with the players he did, they had leaders in all lines of the field. Mick Lyons was a beast of a man. When I was a 15 year old lad overweight and playing GAA, watching him play his trade, strong as an ox and well able to dish it out and take it in abundance.

Dubs fans won't like this but the final day of the 4 game series, Meath's win was awesome. The way they worked the goal, I could see it develop 5 or 6 passes back. Not a chance for a Dub lad to get a hand in or a touch away. Great goal. And when they got level there was only one winner.

That Meath side could win any type of game - 0-9 to 0-7 over Dublin in the 86 Leinster final and big scoring wins in other games. But they knew how to win and if you beat them you could usually only do so by keeping it tight (Cork 1990) or trying to blitz them (Down 1991). A fantastic team, could have won more all-Ireland's but football in that 86-96 era was pretty competetive. 9 finalists in 11 years.

used to always like Donegal great footballers who could be brilliant or blow up completely. Not a fan anymore as both the brilliance and tendency to self destruct are both gone. Currently am a big fan of how Dublin play there football, they are a pleasure to watch.

Tend to watch games on their merits...and who deserves to win.
Spent most summers in Galway and would generally like to see them do well for my cousins but some of their posters on here.....
Some posters on here are capable of skewing that objectivity but I will persevere like the Wichita Lineman

Slayer as a Meath man i want to thank you for that post, i guess been in Meath at that time and talking to people since, it is always nice to get a neutral opinion that is the same as your own.

Ive no problem with Meath.Once they dont beat us id like to see them do well.Id like to see Roscommon do well for a change.I like this Monaghan side also.In hurling, outside of ourselves,i would like to see Tipp win the All Ireland. No county, has had such heartache in finals in recent years. So many 1 score losses and even a last second HAWKEYE decision went against them.

Clare for some reason.

Probably because of their hurlers in the 90s!

Ye cheers for that post slayer, it is refreshing to see a positive view of our 80s and 90s teams from a neutral supporter because I think the criticism of those teams went into overdrive. Now I know they were no angels and being perfectly honest I didn't really mind the criticism (I thought it gave us an advantage) but looking back on it now, it was a bit over the top.

Tipp for the football and Antrim in hurling, although once we're out usually any Ulster county bar Tyrone or Armagh.

My choices for honours apart from my own county are as follows.
All Irelands. Football Mayo Hurling Waterford.
Provincial.
Leinster. Wicklow, just to break their provincial duck. In the present Meath, they love playing Dublin, and look the most likely of the rest.
Ulster. Ditto re Fermanagh, but I think Ulster needs Cavan to come good. A great football county, and they have the underage success.
Connacht. Galway, they play open football, and won't be fazed by Kerry.
Munster. Has to be Tipperary. Need to break the big two dominance.

Hurling.
Leinster. Wexford. If they could improve their shooting, they could take Leinster.
Munster. Limerick. Family reasons, ties to that county.

I would favour teams that have paid their dues & are overdue a win.

Football Mayo, Monaghan

Hurling Waterford, Limerick

The Deise in the hurling. Have a soft spot for Waterford hurling. Also in the running The Dubs and Galway.

In the football its gotta be Mayo. Draft in Ciaran McDonald as a cameo sub and lift Sam in September, Fairytale ending!!
