I suppose it was o'rielys fault that O'connor and O'Shea ran into eachother as well and got concussed??? Also was it not unlucky that we lost gooch the greatest player to ever kick a ball to injury last year?

Garrymac
I know what your saying about other teams improving but surely we will too, we are in the 3rd year of our development under DR Cian o'neill and this is the year that was earmarked for us to challenge for th allireland but of course we being the kings of Gaelic football we got it done a year earlier than we were supposed to.

Also some1 mentioned that Donegal had no luck in 2012 but what about that goal against our selfs in the quarterfinal from the sideline ? When keally ran out and knocked Aidan O'mahony over as he was about to take the ball? Was that not a lucky break, I mean dinegal only beat us by 2 points I think .

Donegal must be your predecessors as King's of Gaelic Football under Jim McGuinness, for they too got the job done a year or 2 earlier than expected. Considering that Donegal team did not hold a single Provincial or All Ireland medal between the lot of them, the feat is far more Impressive. Taking a team with no Provincial or All Ireland medals to back to back Provincial titles and a All Ireland in 2 years is an achievement not likely to be equalled anytime soon.

Donegal's 3rd year in their development didn't go so well after the All Ireland win though, If anything it eventually ended up being a bit of set back.

I agree Donegal has a bit of luck with their goal against Kerry in 2012. Likewise Kerry had a bit of luck later in that game when Kieran Donaghey got an equally lucky goal, at a point in the game where Kerry were dead and buried.

Jaysus kingdom, if I was you I would have a wee look at that goal again!!

Big Murphy was doing his best Donaghy impersonation & it was him that occupied O'Mahoney, not Kealy who was flapping about like a seagull.

As for it being only two points that's true but up until the last five minutes Donegal were in control of the game & looked very comfortable.

I Agee with you Garry , what Donegal and jim achieved in a very short time was nothing short of amazing really, and no1 can take that away from them but what I'm trying to say is we'll all improve this year, my biggest worry for my own team is complacency , if that sets in then the best manager trainer phsycologist in the world won't be able to help us.

You might be right about that incident as I haven't seen it in a while but keally was so poor in that game kicking ball after ball out over the sideline but every team needs a bit of luck to win an allireland , but like a South African rugby player once said the harder they trained the luckier they got.

Every team gets a stroke or two of luck on their way to any big prize and I don't think Donegal are any exception.

Others have mentioned their goal v Kerry in the 1/4 finals and I'd agree and include McFadden's goal against Mayo in the final. Could have been a free in at one end then a lucky break off the post and the game is over.

Donegal were extremely impressive in winning the All-Ireland in 2012 but I wouldn't pretend that they didn't get the odd bounce of the ball just like all other champions.

100% yes... Kerry are almost ALWAYS the team to beat

Nothing better than beating Kerry on the way to winning an AI

That's meant as a compliment - you should beat the best to win an AI

Kerry has everything it takes to put back to backs and they will take some stopping in 2015

Up to the rest of us to prevent that from happening...

Kerry 15 for champ

1 Kelly 24
2 Fitzgearld 25
3 Griffin 23
4 Murphy 24
5 Lyne 25
6 Crowley 24
7 Young 28
8 Moran 27
9 Maher 29
10 Walsh 31
11 Cooper 32
12 Buckley 26
13 O Donughue 25
14 Donaghy 32
15 Geaney 24

To be honest Dublin have the best forwards in the country, I feel Donegal have one last kick a bit like Tyrone in 08, Mayo will miss Horan as their manager, their new duo don't fill me with confidence. Kerry need to get pass two Ulster team to reach the final. It will be either Kerry/ Donegal v Dublin in the final, can't pick a winner.

Your 100% right kid, we haven't a hope of getting near an all Ireland final this year not to mind winning it , with an age profile like that, honestly we're still deep in transition and it'l be a few years before we'll challenge again thankfully we won last year so that'll keep going for a while stop the Roth so to speak, DUBLIN REIGON for Sam without a doubt. DUBLIN REGION team of the decade.

We would have been very unlucky to lose v kerry in 2012 and Kerry would have been very luvky to win it. The last 5 mins was typical Kerry but we got the last point that day. Kerry played their all Ireland final in killarney in 2012.
