Everyone loves a celebration...

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Apologies hill16no1man if I didn't make myself clear, what I meant was for people to put up their favourites. However it is only a bit of fun after all so its open to all interpretations. Favourite or ridiculous they are all welcome.

Actually found the goal and celebration I was talking about.

Dstuction how did the replay go for Adrian? just wondering?

Not so good but that was due to a few days on the beer for the team. that was a good Dublin team. Cosgrave was on fire that year.

As far as I'm concerned the only celebration worthy of a true Gael is the buck lep.

Anything else is only West Brit stuff and will be the ruination of the game.

Final whistle at the 2011 all Ireland football final. Croke park going absolutely mad, while the man who made it happen, Stephen Cluxton, puffs out his cheeks and calmly walks towards his delirious team mates.

anybody else notice in the tyrone v rosscommon match yesterday
a tyron player kicked a free over by the stand and in the replay it showed him
turning and sticking his ingers up at the crowd in the stand as he held them down by his side doing it

He was probably just replying to some champ in the crowd verbally abusing a young lad.

Mes Donaghy got a suspension for doing something similar a number of years ago up in Castlebar while being abused by the crowd so dont think abuse from the crowd is an allowable excuse for that kind of behaviour. Seemed to be some real spite in the game up in Sligo sat.
Hope tipp do the business now in the final - some real quality players round the middle of the field by them just hope they can cope with the Tyrone tactics.

Did he?

Is that when the Mayo supporter threw the wooden spoon at him?

Ciaran Carey after scoring that point v Clare in 1996.

He just ran back to the half way line, cheeks puffing and shoulders out. Like he would do that in any big game.

Legend.

I have to admit that for opposition players it must be brilliant to get a vital score against Dublin into the hill, and I've endured quiet a few of their celebrations down through the years, Mulligan,Dowd, Ollie Murphy among others, but they only serve to make the premature celebration a la Andy Moran more enjoyable for the fans on the hill.
From a Dublin point of view a couple stick in mind, neither of them very over the top, Cluxtons smile as he ran back after kicking 'that' free, and one from Connolly, think it was 2011 as well the day he shot the lights out against Tyrone. After one of his points into the Canal end he just gave a little clenched fist and a smile to whichever Dublin player was beside him. Just the delight on his face when he knew it was going to be one of those days for him.

My least favorite was the tipp full forward liine back in the early 90s. Smug grins and slapping each other on the ar*e

A Dublin poster above says his favourite is Cluxtons smile as he ran back after he kicked that free and Connolly smiling to a team mate after he kicked a point.. Could you explain the difference between a smug grin after scoring and a smile after scoring please?

My favourite was after young Michael Quinlivan scored a penalty into the hill end during the 2011 minor All Ireland, he just stood with the fists clenched and roared. Nerves of steel.
