Dublin Fans boo'ing

Tg4 showing Tyrone v Kerry then Mayo v Donegal, looks like I am heading to Clones after all. Please God Monaghan come out and play there already in the semi's so no need for a big blanket just a little one surely?

1708838 Do we not have enough soccer type antics on the pitch without the fans getting involved now as well by booing players and teams.

Sky sports has a lot to answer for!!

Jesus read a few of the comments before posting will you , if you disagree with why people booed fair enough , but your soccer example shows you comment without reading the posts . why am I not surprised .

Wayno1 says there's a massive over reaction because the Dubs were involved , its actually Dubs doing a lot of the giving out .

To be fair, I'm not talking about Dublin fans or Derry fans complaining.

What i'm saying is that there is an over-reaction from neutrals because Dublin where involved. And Dublin especially on fora like these ones here, Are the big story.

If that same dour affair was served out in a D2 game (no disrespect to D2) between Roscommon and Kildare for example, I don't think it would provoke so many people to respond and jump on their high horse.

That's what i mean man. Sorry for being vague.

If you've paid money in to be entertained and you end up getting an awful pile of muck, some people are going to boo, maybe a lot of people are going to boo and maybe they're right.

If Monaghan put 15 men behind the ball are the travelling Dubs going to start booing again? Will it become the norm now?Seriously hope it was a one off night of frustration.

Clondalkin
Glad to see you're heading to Clones.
I recognised the frustration in your declaration that you weren't travelling as I said exactly the same thing after the Donegal V Monaghan shambles but after a few days the red mist cleared & sanity prevailed.
Stay with it my friend, your county needs you!!!!

lets not kid ourselves, fans have been booing at Croke Park for a lot less in the past. A lot of ones on here are trying to justify it with last weekends performance, but how do you justify booing the opposition free taker when he's aiming towards The Hill? hardly negative football, him trying to score a point!

An empty stadium with boo's ringing in everyone's ears all the while its "live" on TV is a cause for alarm - to those that actually care about the game be they coaches/spectators or those running it. Typically some appear to be that it is nothing really, I can't see the GAA or its sponsors waiting until the Championship Semi's have 20K in a stadium and a portion boo'ing! What happened Sat was spontaneous - it was not an over-reaction you really would have had to be there to understand that. People are already opting not to go to football games, at one stage league of ireland had packed stadiums - ignore this at your peril.

As i would like to see football played the way it should be man to man like Hurling Not the bully boy stuff we see now a days . This kind of football started when the Northern teams came down and won the hand ball Tournament called the Killmcud Crokes sevens where you did not have to kick the ball only to score .

Agree totally on the spontaneity of the booing , and NO Ive never booed a free taker in my life nor would I encourage anyone to do so .

Yeah you'd never see that at any other ground in the country, or from any other county supporters.

If you want silence for kickers go to Ravenhill. The Derry free taker the other night, unjustly in my opinion, received extra vocals because of his team's overall approach to the game I.e. To stop football as Brian McIver said afterwards. Why is it that when booing occurs in a tense USFC match between the likes of Armagh and Tyrone nobody ever comments on it but if it happens when the Dubs are playing, the Charlie churches are out with the knives on here?

Joxer - lets not kid ourselves here about why the freetaker was booed. Was elements of your own support who brought this to our games years ago unfortunately.

In fairness , if there are a couple of thousand people congregated in one area , there will always be booing . There is booing at every single match now when there's someone hitting a free !

well Joxer I'm not in favour of supporters booing any team and unlike you I wouldn't single out a kick taker because of how his manager sent his team out to play. I don't think you can find a better example up or down the country than the jeers from The Hill at Croke during a Dublin home game, but if a thread starts were two Ulster teams were at it, I'll give you my word I'll show no hypocrisy on the issue ;-)

Well where would you expect to see a better example if 12000 Dubs are packed onto a terrace? I didn't single out any kick taker. What are you talking about? I'm giving a plausible explanation. I even denounced it. What more do you want?

As for the comment above about Dublin 'starting it'. What age are you 12?

Look I don't want to make a big deal of it but this notion that Dublin always boo the opposition and no other county does is nonsense. We all know that.

Check out 2.39. Guess what? Armagh fans booing a Tyrone free and they're even on the Hill. I suppose their Dubs in disguise. :)
