Surely if you believe Limerick are serious All-Ireland contenders mike you wouldnt be afraid of the teams in 1A?

I'm not sure there's any point in getting promotion from 1b. You still get tough matches against top teams (Limerick, Waterford, Wexford), and get decent tests against good teams (Antrim, Laois, Offaly) where you can possibly switch players around a bit more, and try things out a it. And at the end, if you finish in the top 4, you get a quarter-final spot against a 1A team anyway. So whats the point of promotion? Whats the point of even finishing in the top 2 in 1b? You just have to avoid being one of the bottom two. The current system removes all incentive

As for predictions:
Division 1A
Dublin v Cork - Cork
Galway v Kilkenny - Galway
Clare v Tipperary - Clare
Division 1B
Offaly v Waterford - Waterford
Wexford v Limerick - Limerick
Antrim v Laois - Antrim
Division 2A
Derry v Carlow - Carlow
Wicklow v London - Wicklow
Kerry v Westmeath - Westmeath
Division 2B
Donegal v Meath - Meath
Armagh v Kildare - Kildare
Mayo v Down - Down

Spot on Pinkie. From May 24th to September you can put whoever you want up against us. Until then I couldn't care less who you put in front of us. You can put the Wexford minor team out if you want.

Each to their own I suppose. I just fail to see what bearing being in 1a has on winning an all Ireland. If you top 1b, beat us by 40 points on Sunday league and we end up playing ye in the championship, of what benefit is the league win to you?? So the point I'm trying to make is whatever you do this time of year has no relevance come May when all teams are back on a level playing field and are setting out on the road to Croker in September.

So again I'll ask, what difference does it make to the championship what division of the league you play in?? Or is it the fact that you have less chance of being live on TG4 if you're in 1b upsetting people!!! All answers I have gotten so far have been opinions. The only fact I find is that is makes no difference. Can anyone tell me otherwise??

How is it a fact that it doesn't matter? Surely if it is an opinion that it matters then EQUALLY it has to be only an opinion that it doesn't matter.

Someone posted here earlier that LK could have found toughness to beat kk last year if they had slogged it out in 1A. No one will ever know if it is true. It's definitely true that teams have been awful in league and excelled in c ship. Equally it is true that some teams used league as a basis for launching a good c ship campaign. Best example of the latter in my view was a young Clare winning relegation play off in 2013

Either way one thing for sure no team can totally dismiss any game. In no sport can you turn performance on or off like a switch. Young teams like Dublin and LK ( next year) can benefit ( no matter how big or small) from beating teams like Tipp n kk. That a no brainier.

Not to worry Doyler,i was away for the weekend so didnt make it to the bookies.Anyway u have enough predicting credit in the bank to gloss over 1 poor week.I have no doubt but youll redeem yourself next weekend, and i certainly will be looking forward to your Round 4 entries and then ill be engaging with Messrs Power & Boyle bigtime.
Good man pinkie, lets keep things real on the predicting front.Your only fooling yourself in giving incorrect results as the likes of benny and myself dont suffer chancers gladly.Bend the rules and,as you can attest to,be prepared to be named and shamed.Believe me lads its not worth it.If a man hasnt got his word,well....

OK time to chance my arm for the weekend ahead. I had a poor week last week, and yet again doth promise to uphold the integrity of predictions before the hoganstand mafia come down on me like a ton of bricks after a false claim.

Clare v Dublin - An Clár to get their 1st win
Tipperary v Kilkenny - Tiobraid Arann to highlight why KK need the Ballyhale contingent back quick
Galway v Cork - Corcaigh because Galway played well last week, they are due an abject performance as a result!

Limerick v Offaly - Luimneach but Uibh Fhali to give them a rattle
Waterford v Antrim - Port Lairge at a canter
Laois v Wexford - Loch Garman by the skin of our teeth.

Waterford v Antrim - Waterford
Laois v Wexford - Wexford but only jujust.

hoganstand match traker announce waterford's promotion basically at the final whistle against antrim. They still have to come to Wexford park in a fornight. A little insulting
