Cork need to win Liam this year or it's bye-bye JBM.

And what good will bringing in a manager of lesser ability achieve?

Lets not forget Cork and Clare gave us two of the best games in recent memory not that long ago . Surely they havn't gone backwards by that much.

Probably none but JBM will have gone as far as he can bring them by the end of this season. I would argue that Anthony Daly was at least a year too long with Dublin. Players need a fresh voice after a while. John Mullane was even saying that on the radio last Sunday referring to his time with Waterford.

Clare and Cork haven't gone back that much since. 2013, it's just that they weren't exceptional in the first place. Two average teams threw up a great match. Had Tipp and Kilkenny shrunk to their level both Clare and Cork would be still contenders. Most counties have excellent underage structures in palce for years and have been reaping the rewards. Cork are miles behind in this regard. If Cork were to win a senior title it would beg the question, where are the other counties going wrong!

Do you ever read your posts before hitting the 'add message'? A rhetorical question...I doubt you have the cognitive ability..

Sounds like Westisbest got a puncture in Clare on his way down to a Cork woman who dumped him :)

HughHunt24 the time honoured GAA thing to do is play down your own side's chances. You've broken that sacred rule.
Being serious however I think this years championship is wide open. Any one of 8 or 9 counties are capable of beating one another on any given day. I doubt anyone here would be brave enough at this stage to put more than a few bob on who's to lift Liam this year.

JBM has done a terrific job in weeding out bitterness that was so prevalent in Cork hurling and was the major obstacle to Cork success. Sadly it hasn't worked its way down to some supporters yet!

Ps when you start insulting posters, you're losing!
