Others who played in 3 in a row include
Pat and Mick Spillane C Neligan P O Shea T Kennelly O Moran S Walsh
T Doyle M Sheehy E Liston

I'd wonder just how many of those lads played on the field at the same time. Given that they made 2 AI minor finals (winning 1) and many of them went on to win multiple AI senior medals, I think that the Tyrone 2000/1 AI winning teams deserve to be very much in the conversation for greatest ever U21 side. An amalgamation of those 2 winning Tyrone sides would be:

1. Pascal McConnell
2. Ciaran Gourley
3. Conor Gormley
4. Mickey McGee
5. Davy Harte
6. Gavin Devlin
7. Philip Jordan
8. Cormac McAnallen
9. Kevin Hughes
10. Enda McGinley
11. Brian McGuigan
12. Ryan Mellon
13. Mark Harte
14. Stevie O'Neill
15. Eoin Mulligan

And if you want 5 subs, well that still leaves you with the following lads who all played senior championship football fot Tyrone in the noughties: Peter Donnelly, Shane Sweeney, Ciaran McGinley, Declan McCrossan and Richard Thornton.

If im honest i think if Meath had all players available we would have had a serious say in this competition. IM disappointed
But what can we do

I understand that Cavan have 10 starters from last year still underage which should be enough for 5th Ulster title in a row.

Mayo my tip for Connacht they are due U21 title in Gallagher D O Connor Durcan Hall they have lads playing division one senior football their minors won the last two Connacht titles and All Ireland in 2013.

Kerry for Munster I reckon but will become unstuck against the dubs who will likely beat Mayo in the All Ireland final.

@Royaldunne. Who is not available? I assume Eamon Wallace is such a player if he is still u21 and out injuried? Sure have Meath not Joey Wallace, O'Sullivan and the two lads who have started in midfield for most of the senior games so far this year?

thomas clarke thats unreal talent to get from those tyrone underage teams
that they went on to become even better seniors and win all irelands is a great credit to coaches n managers too
i doubt if you ever see anything like that no coming through at same time in any county again

@mathhew. Out injured James mcentee, osullivan, with seniors Harnan, McGill, Flanagan, Rooney , mark osullivan , McMahon, Eamonn Wallace (only recovering) i can see joey Wallace returning to 21s but non of the rest will as they all starters with seniors, and cant expect them to play 3 games in 6 days i also think Dixon is out , im sure there is others too that ziggy mentioned, alot missing for one reason or another, im not sure about cian wards brother or Conor Gillespie bro either, i presume they both on panel.

Mark O'Sullivan is not under 21 :),Daire Rowe is the other big player who won't be available.

Meath have a lot of good players under the age of 21,but due to injury and many needed to start for the seniors it is hard to see us do well, still think we will beat Westmeath though.

The only good thing,is that people will think Meath have not alent coming through at U21s,but we have players like Cillian O'Sullivan,Daire Rowe,Eamonn Wallace,Rooney,McGill,Flanagan,NcEntee to come through for the seniors. Some good lads on the minors too,the future is not so bad for Meath imo

No real surprise last night. Good to see Eamon Wallace back firing on all cylinders. Good sign for the senior panel.
