Really poor crowd at a very cold Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda to see Louth 1-16 Wexford 1-10. Was less than half of the previous home game versus Clare according to a Louth GAA official and looked like it couldn't have been more than maybe four or five hundred.

3460 in Ballyshannon for Donegal v Cork. There were more Cork people on the team bus than in the stands.

I would say that out of the 7,000 plus reported for Killarney yesterday, the clear majority were Dublin fans. Great buzz around the town too and yet more proof to dispel the myth that Dublin fans dont travel

twas a cold auld day...anyway, Cork football supporters are prepared to wait patiently for an All-Ireland final appearance before we demand our ticket entitlements..

I suppose the state of the grounds doesn't help matters gabhanach, but 4/500 is poor. Interesting question: Are Louth and Derry the only counties where the local LOI team(s) get bigger home crowds than the county GAA teams?

Cork City would usually get bigger crowds than the Cork footballers.

Ya you are probably right. I often wondered why Cork don't play down in Clonakility or Mallow on occasion-change it up a bit..they are good venues and the crowds would be better..

gabhanach Wexford footballers have never gotten much support even when they were getting to Leinster finals. They seem to be on a bit of a slide lately so I can't see that getting any better tbh. Especially given there's a mini hurling revival going on in the county at the moment. Only times the footballers get a decent crowd is when they're a curtain raiser or after the hurlers.

Heard Aogán O' Fearghail the new GAA president on radio earlier and mentioned he would be looking at possibly reducing amount of free to view matches in order to increase attendances.

6,400 at Cork v Kerry. Biggest and most enthusiastic crowd I've seen at a Cork football game in a longtime.
6,500 Galway v Kilkenny

Didn't here them give out official attendance in Letterkenny yesterday but there was a massive crowd, I would say around 8000

There would have been a lot more at the Monaghan v Donegal match if Donegal would have played it in Ballybofey instead of Letterkenny.. I have no idea how Letterkenny can be considered for county matches.. the access to it is the worst that I have ever seen.. one road in and out of the place. Not enough toilets and a stand with only 2 entries\exits. there would be serious trouble if the stand had to be evacuated quickly..

Meathonhill. The stand and adjacent uncovered area holds between 1700/2100. Depending on how squashed you want to be. Never did a count. Quite a few under 16s last night that's why i added the 500 to official figure.
