im talking about his statement after dublin relegated them and they were preparing for the ulster match. there the same thing man as dismissing a national competition can come back to bite you dublin were poor in the league in 2012 and many people said was down to winning the all ireland the year before and were just later back and bla bla bla but the warning signs were clear the same as donegal were poor in 2013 in the league and paid the price later in the year you cant just flick a switch and have it all come into place. weekend from gavin interview today will be more of the same from dublin giving the extended panel and under 21s a chance

ITs a gamble not taking the league seriously, you can get relegated, and that is not very good.
But if you go all out, the season is too long, unless you have 2 teams. I can only speak for my own county. We have a small panel, and a very tough all ireland series that starts in the middle of may. other counties dont have to go off the bridle until the end of july.
So I really hope that we stay up, but would hate to see us in a league semi final.

donegalman ye were playing in a league final last year dont think it done ye any hamr as ye won ulster and made an all ireland final so cant see why you wouldnt want to make a league semi final sure the players would be probably playing club championship or training the same day if you arent .

League final of division 2. very different, and means there is no semi final to play either Plus if it means getting down to the business of club football, all the more reason to watch the league semis on tv, rather than take part.
But if we do get that far, I hope to see many fresh young faces getting a run in croke park.

ublin v Donegal -Donegal by 1-2 as Dublin dont seem to care much about the league this year Monaghan v Cork - monaghan this will be the tightest game i reckon, i think cork will still win the league even if they lose herer Mayo v Tyrone -Mayo , will be tighter than people think but still mayo by more than 3. i think tyrone face relegation Derry v Kerry - kerry by no more than 4-5.can see walsh having big game. derry rely to much on mark lynch Even tho he is a quality footballer if derry lose here relegation looks certain
Laois v Cavan- cavan. i think cavan can push on this year Down v Roscommon - roscommon. i think roscommon will be the surprise team this year and i fancy them for connacht Meath v Kildare -Meath by no more than 4 Westmeath v Galway - Galway by more than 3 . i think galway will push on this year can see them getting promoted
Tipperary v Limerick - Tipperary, would say tipp will get promoted Wexford v Armagh - Armagh, should get promoted Sligo v Fermanagh -fermanagh, was surprised with sligo loss last week.fermanagh wont be far off promotion quigley is aquaity player Louth v Clare - draw canm see a good tight game here
Carlow v London - london. london seem to be fairly written off even tho they have some very good footballers like the likes off mulvey Wicklow v Leitrim - leitrim. fancy leitrim to get promoted, new manager and u21s done well last year and had a good minor team Longford v Antrim - Longford by more than 2 Offaly v Waterford - draw , to teams i could see get promoted

Betting odds for weekend games once more illustrate the crying need for more competition in GAA betting. Dublin 4/9 is ridiculous bet - as was their being odds on in Cork - and a two point spread at 4/9 is taking the mickey. At those odds you should be getting four or five points on the dog.

The problem with getting to the league final can be that it interferes with preparations for the provincial competition which can come close on the heels of the league final.
This may not be a problem for Dublin due to the level of opposition in Leinster but in the dog eat dog setting of Ulster the more preparation time the better. The fact of the matter is that an Ulster title is held in much higher regard than a League title.
Not saying that's right or wrong, just the way it is.

im sure there will be a 2-3 week gap from the league final inst there? sure ye would probably be training or playing club footballl in that time as it is a league final be far better preparation for a championship match than training sessions or a challenge game
