2015 AI a two horse race

I'd love an Armagh/Down/Kildare/Meath/Galway win, failing that then for Mayo to win. The top teams are getting too cocky, time to shake them up.

Sam is in the bag for Kerry and it wont be leaving them in 2015.... Gooch and Tommy Walsh back also.

Kerry could win Munster with a B team at this rate...

Mayo will win Connacht again, but Mayo being Mayo they wont win SAM.

Donegal wont win Ulster imo - aging team and without Jim at the helm, it could be some while before they win SAM again.

Dublin are over-rated. Found out this year and no backup plan when things go wrong....

So a 1 horse race really for SAM 2015....!

Split 'The Kerry Region' in two

You took the words right out of my mouth Wayno..

Cut their funding also - the deal that The Kerry Region have with Kerry Group is unfair to others...

How many All Ireland's have they won now.... miles ahead of any other county.

They have the ability to do 5 in a Row...

Don't see how Dublin and Kerry are way ahead of the likes of Mayo and Donegal. They weren't way ahead of them last year, OK granted, McGuinness gone may take Donegal back a step or two, and Mayo are going to be under new management, which may slow them down a little, but way ahead? I don't think so!

Everyone else in Ireland not from Dublin or Heaven...commonly referred to as 'Kerry' on here.

Yerra sure don't you know a day out of Kerry is a day wasted!

We will be there or there about's next year, as we always are...

The record of teams outside Division 1 in the championship in the last few years (bar Donegal) would suggest there is a increasing gap back to the 2nd/3rd tier teams.

It's very hard to imagine scenarios for any of the teams you listed where they end up winning Sam next year. They might, and probably will at some stage, trouble one of the top-guns but the odds are strongly against them being able to take a sufficient number of scalps to win Sam unless they got a serious run of luck.

Dublin and Kerry are both teams with a number of serious proven top-quality inter-county forwards who've won All-Irelands recently.
That's a serious advantage to have when the goal is all about scoring more than the opposition.
Also both have All-Ireland winning managers in place.

There's a huge issue about the age profile of the Donegal squad. A serious chunk of their key players are in the over 30 age bracket, which is when performance start to decline.

At the moment I'd have Mayo in 3rd place a bit of a way ahead of Donegal, especially when you take in the routes through Connacht as opposed to Ulster.
Both have lost their managers, but 1)McGuinness is surely a greater loss than Horan and 2)Mayo have managed to get what looks like a decent management team in place (I think they swerved a major bullet avoiding McStay & McHale, even if only by accident)

After that Monaghan look a bit dark horseish to me - especially being on the soft side of Ulster - a huge amount will depend on how their squad cope with Division 1 football though. Tyrone look very unsettled but with it being Harte's last year I wonder if there could be one spark left in them. Cork if they had any sort of a manager would be dangerous given the players they have but until he goes it's very hard to see Cork doing anything serious. Impossible for anyone to have any faith in Derry.

lol, the 3 administrative counties and city within the Dublin Region would dominate Leinster at the current rate. Fingal County's participation in this year's Rackard Championship is only the start of a changed inter-county landscape.

To look forward at 2015 genuinely, I look at the 4 provinces and who is the genuine provincial challengers will be.

Leinster - Dublin
Connacht - Mayo, Galway or Roscommon.
Ulster - Donegal, Tyrone, Armagh, Derry or Monaghan
Munster - Kerry, Cork

Then look at All Ireland QF/SF split with 2015 All Ireland Final similar to 2012 with a Leinster / Connacht v Ulster / Munster. The outcome of both the Ulster and Connacht Championships will have a huge Influence in how the All Ireland finally ends.

I still think Mayo will win Connacht again, but I suspect Division 2 will bring Roscommon and Galway on even further.

Ulster will boil down to either Donegal or Derry emerging as outright winners, as I suspect Donegal will take Tyrone and Armagh and Derry should take Down. I genuinely think Cavan will scalp bitter rivals Monaghan, and wouldn't be overly shocked if Antrim or Fermanagh caught them in the Ulster SF.

I think Its foolish to write off a very strong Donegal, as a very capable and well trained Rory Gallagher will likely be at the helm. They will likely lose Colm McFadden and David Walsh to retirement, but will gain a refreshed and very experienced Mark McHugh and possibly Ryan Bradley. I think they will be stronger next season.

2015 will still be the usual suspects, Kerry, Dublin, Mayo, Donegal, then lots of scope for other counties to break into that club. From the four named counties take your pick, all have their up and downsides, lady luck plays a huge part too. Dublin will regroup they have a huge wealth of talent, thankfully the DCB are not kneejerkers, I expect them to note their failings and just push on. Kerry, i'm not convinced too many variables still, Mayo and Donegal will be very interesting, I fancy Donegal to be a huge surprise.

It would look like a battle between kerry, dublin and mayo. The more that I think of it, the more likely it will be to see mayo v dublin in one semi and kerry v the field in another. I feel that kerry wont be stopped until the final, if at all. If they play dublin, revenge will be on their minds. If they play mayo, mayo will be hell bent on correcting their failure this year in the semi. I wonder will we see a new sunday game panel next year?? It would be great to see 3 new faces in the studio at half time. Maybe this is an issue for another thread.

Sure West Kerry played Stacks in the county final. That's a bigger area than Fingal.

The breaking up of Kerry is happening. ;-)

Yes and No, Firstly Mid Kerry played Stacks and more to the point yes West Kerry play County Championship but the biggest club Dingle play Senior so are not included and Pats play in the Brendan's division and don't count, but tis a fair point, sure South Kerry won for years and they had a pick from Cromane back to the water.

Can't agree with this Garymc.

Personally i think its

Leinster - Meath/Kildare
Connacht - Mayo, Galway or Roscommon.
Ulster - Donegal/Tyrone
Munster - Kerry/Cork

Dublin are in decline. Rebuilding after their loss to Donegal last year.

My dark horses for a semi final spot are Down. New management in place and with Caolan Mooney and Marty clarke on board for 2015 that will them an extra dimension which will see them get to an Ulster Final at least.
