Great thread. What is the record for a player winning championship medals in different counties? I know a guy with at least one winners championship medal in 4 counties and 2 other lads with 3 counties.

Did anyone check out the Burt hurling club in Donegal ;;; would say some of the players there hold a lot of county championship medals ?

Regarding winning all the honours, I don't think anyone can touch Brian Murphy of Nemo and Cork. Has all Ireland Senior, u21 and Minor for both football and hurling plus a few club all Ireland footballs. Plus Munster for all those too, obviously. Not sure about railway cup, but I suspect he may have both football and hurling there too.

Or Lisbelaw in Fermanagh. It's a long time since they lost the Fermanagh championship

Lisbellaw have won 29 out of the last 33 Fermanagh hurling championships so I would say there might be a few candidates on there, Burt have won 22 since 1989, including an amazing 16 in a row, I would imagine that is the all time overall record in a row and that there would be a few players in that have most of those medals.

Murphy still doesnt have a football league title with Cork or a County Hurling championship with Nemo. Still though he would have a football 'Grand Slam' with Cork if he had to win the league.

Pat Dunny of Kildare won 7 senior club football championship medals and 10 senior club hurling championship medals between 1964 and 1984. He also holds the unique distinction of winning Railway Cup medals in both codes in 1974.

Dirtybag

Jimmy Barry Murphy

won senior All Ireland county titles in hurling and football -
national leagues won at both codes.
5 Railway cup medals (only one in hurling)
All-Ireland club titles in both codes.
All-Ireland minor medals in both codes.
He has won one All-Ireland under 21 hurling.

At county level only, the under 21 football All-Ireland alluded him. At club level only the under 21 hurling county championship did not come his way.

The thread says CLUB medals and is that not what we are talking about ?? I think medals won playing inter- county should not come into it.

Fair point Sam but like most threads here there's a tendency to go of on a tangent. Besides JBM was a hero of mine (tho it took me years to forgive him for 73)
