You're probably trying to get a rise but funnily enough you do have a point in that the Munster football championship is the only one (as far as I know) which facilitates the 2 strongest teams getting to the final. No other county in the other 3 provinces enjoys the same advantage, so why should Cork and Kerry? Reaching a provincial final means avoiding the myriad of qualifiers and guaranteeing at least a last 12 berth.

So yeah the seeding in Munster should be scrapped and I see the other Munster counties are beginning to agitate against it.

But declaring this year's championship null and void? That sounds like sour grapes to me.

the null and void was a joke. Great to see a Kilkenny man/woman take a interest in football

Rankings are completely unfair to those other counties in Munster and will be done away with shortly I'd imagine.

The most important point here is that the Turkey's voted for Christmas. It was the Clare county board the proposed this and was ratified by all.

Kerry do have an unfair advantage though- they have better players than all the other counties in Munster. If you had a system where they had to beat all 5 Munster teams to win, they would.

On two occasions, Cork beat Kerry in a Munster semi-final and they (Kerry) went on to win an All-Ireland through the backdoor (2009 and 2004 I think).

the Munster championship should not have been seeded no doubt. But why did'nt the other Munster counties complain They are too soft really in my opinion. But the really big problem with this years championship has been the refereeing in the Kerry V Mayo clash. And the decision to play semi replay in Limerick Munster. Look Kerry are a great team but this year they used up 120% of their 9 lives. They really really got away with blue murder so to speak. Look Mayo were lucky against Cork in quarter final. But they were completely "hoodwinked" in the semi.
Given the pro Kerry "bias" of the GAA- ie the likes of Pat Spillane, Sean Kelly and their own great Manager and players and so on it will be next to impossible to
topple them next year. Only the Dubs can realistically do that. Lots of GAA officials seem to role over when they see the green and gold. A bit like Man Utd under Fergie and the craven Managers who worshipped them. The GAA handed Kerry the title this year with the playing of the semi in Limerick Munster!

Most Kilkenny folk take an interest in the football (mainly at the latter stages mind you) but it doesn't translate into supporting the game at local level unfortunately.

Limerick, Clare and Tipperary in particular performed very well in this years qualifiers. The usual lopsided games that Munster had between the big 2 and the rest, including last year, didn't happen - in fact Clare and Tipp ran Kerry and Cork very close. And Kerry ended up winning the All-Ireland. I think the Munster Council deserve great credit for going ahead with the seeding system as it resulted in a better Munster championship and improved performances from most sides when they played outside the province.
For years we were told that Kerry only have so many All-Irelands because of their soft provincial championship. No team has ever had it as easy as Dublin this year, and it done them no good. Most Donegal supporters would also say that they won Ulster without ever showing their full hand or playing close to their potental, yet they still could not win the All-Ireland either. Maybe Kerry just win All-Irelands because they work very hard at producing great footballers?

Would you like some salt to go with that chip on your shoulder ? How could the GAA having the replay in limerick be anything to do with us in Kerry? Did we organise the American football match? I'd say you are sitting at home now with your tinfoil hat on thinking what will Kerry do next year. Also the seeding had nothing to with us, we'll play any team anywhere we're told. Ciarrai Abu.

It certainly helps knowing when you need to peak , knowing most likely when your going to meet your provincial biggest rivals of course its an advantage , however its for Munster counties to decide which way to go with this , if Munster sticks as is thats their prerogative .

Yeah, firstly the Dublin Region and all Leinster semi-finalists were seeded. The Munster seeding is changing for next year. Instead of naming Kerry and Cork, it's the Munster finalists that are seeded and are placed in the semi-finals. The semi-final draw will be an open draw. Kerry could draw Cork in the semi-finals with the two quarter-final winners playing in the other semi-final.

Damothedub - do you think its an advantage for the Dubs that they get to play all their games in Croker? Take away the "money for the GAA" and "every player wants to play there" side of things. A packed stadium in Mullingar full of Westmeath supporters shouting on their team against the Dubs. Different story altogether to having the comfort of 60k Dubs cheering you on in a pitch you always play on. Its not the Dubs fault I know that. But they are so used to playing there now it gives them a huge advantage over other teams, especially the likes of teams who dont get to play there that often. It would actually benefit the Dubs if they did have to play championship games in other counties.

Yes, we have the best footballers in Ireland with a winning mentality. James o Don said it all that he didn't what his name brought in Quizs saying who were the only kerry players who had all stars and no SAMs to their name says it all about Kerry really.

I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next person but the system adopted by Munster was not at the behest of Kerry and although there is an undoubted advantage to be had, this advantage should also benefit Cork!
