The statistics don't lie hill. That's why these rankings are good in that it is purely based purely on stats. Your own rankings are taking into account hypothetical games with hypothetical results. This is purely subjective. So from a statistical point of view, they are completely accurate

first off they are taken from a rugby point of view so how can hey be accurate?
secondly what hypothetical results am i suggesting.
kery won two trophys
dublin won two trophys
donegal won one trophy
mayo won one trophy
therefore if its stas your after
then should be kerry followed by dublin then mayo and donegal 3rd and 4th
how you can place donegal and mayo ahead of dublin on stats is strange

kerry are the best team in ireland in 2014 yes that is the whole point of the all ireland..it gives teams a chance to prove who the best is and kerry did that..dublin were the best in 2013...i personally feel kerry would beat dublin...what i was saying to you hill is that in general people cant seem to find any sensible opinion on the dubs..i wasnt referring to your own opinions..im referring to the opinions in general which declared they were unbeatable and then suddenly they were overrated...most of the public opinions are 1 extreme or the other....look at the reaction to the all ireland final for instance..now football is in huge decline whereas football was great after the semis?..people need to just calm down and take some perspective...look at the amount of bad finals in other sports and there is never such negativity..overall i would have dubs 4th due to being well beaten in the semi final with donegal ahead of them for beating them and mayo ahead of them for their superior display in the semi finals

but your basing everything on one game regarding rankings which is madness
in a ranking sense there are two national competitions
kerry one won and dublin won the other
then you have the provincial competitions
which kerry dublin donegal and mayo won
so if kerry and dublin won a national and provincial title
and donegal and mayo only won provincial title
shouldnt it read kerry dublin mayo donegal
when you take into account donegal didnt even play in div1 where as the other 3 did
so therefore the games in div 1 are worth more in a ranking sense

Hill - Maybe I should have said 'result' instead of 'results'. The hypothetical result I was referring to was when you said in a previous post that Kerry shouldn't necessarily be the number one ranked team because you think Dublin would beat them. The reality is that we will never know if they would have or not this year. The rankings can only be based on the games that took place. And it is only based on league and championship games. McKenna cup, o byrne cup aren't taken into account as far as I know.

It is taken from a rugby point of view yes, but it is modified to try and give the most accurate rankings possible. The Wikipedia page explains it in detail. But maybe we won't ever have a completely accurate ranking system. Everyone will always find fault and have their own opinion on it. I just like the fact that these rankings take that element out of it

Yes I agree from a ranking sense Kerry would be number one but there no way Donegal and mayo could be ahead of Dublin by that system.
What I was referring to when talking about Dublin would beat Kerry was to who the best team in the country is at the moment not got to do with ranking

well i dont regard the league as much to be honest hill thats just my own opinion..kerry especially and donegal under mcguiness have never been too pushed in the league..sure look cork came top of the league didnt they and the dubs only got in to the semis by beating tyrone so its not a very accurate system..i only based my own personal rankings on championship performance in the year and out of the 4 semi finalists or 'elite' sides the dubs performed the worst when they came up against a high level side out of those 4 therefore being in 4th position
