Very very hard to pick 15. I would have N Gallagher at midfield, now if we had AoS or D Moran with him we would have some midfield. Also C McManus is a must , better NOW than B Brogan. Lots of good half backs : Mc Glynn, P Murphy Mone, the Dublin boys Full back is N McGee Could have Durkin in goals, played no worse in final than Cluxton in the semi. Connolly and Flynn Murphy sS Cavanagh McManus and J o D would be the forwards.

Firstly in one of those league matches he didn't mark him.
I'll say it again McGee is not a patch on keoghan

You saying it doesn't make it so royal.

But stay on those tablets boy.

I'd rate Eamon McGee a level above Keogan. And a Eamon isn't been the best full back In his own house

If the McGees are such great defenders how come they have to play in a 10 man defence to keep a decent forward quiet? If they were such great defenders they could be trusted man on man when Donegal fall behind but Donegal cannot chance leaving them one on one with any intercounty forwards.

Exactly tirawleybaron they get so much praise yet they need there whole team back there to help them out, as Barry O Shea said on "off the ball" sure you could play full back for Donegal when your 40 haha.

In fairness Royaldunne is fairly Meath centric but Dónal Keoghan is a quality defender.

As others have said it is hard to judge him against the McGees as they play in a crowded defensive system.

There is never just 15 is there!!! Ask any poster here and you will get 15 different players the whole time. The best 15 players in the country right now are those who won All-Ireland's in Football & Hurling.

As a man marker keoghan is the best no 3 in country. No one is saying McGee isn't good but with 10 fellas beside him how can you judge? Try him toe to toe and he wouldn't be a patch on Donal. This is fact. I wish we had more like him.
Even the dubs would agree. As for it been Royal glasses? Can the same be said for Donegal supporters??????

If Keoghan is a no.3, then why does he not play there for Meath??

If you are comparing him to Neil McGee, then Neil is a better No. 3. And is probably the best full-back in Ireland.

If you are comparing him to Eamonn McGee (which we should be) then there can be a case put forward for each player. If I was selecting a man-marker to mark a quick corner forward then I'd pick Keoghan. If I was looking to curtail a physical corner forward, I'd pick McGee.

How could you choose Keoghan over McGee, anytime he has marked McManus he has got roasted
McGee has marked him better than Keoghan

Drew Wylie, Neil McGee and Rory O'Carroll are all better full backs. I really could go on and name another few if ya want.

Royaldunne is a crazy Meath man but he is right about Keoghan great defender, honestly it is very hard to judge the McGee's with so much cover around them, but tbf for Donegal the two brothers are excellent in there roles.

Put it this way if Donal Keoghan played in defence for Donegal whoever he was marking wouldn't get a kick all game.

Exactly clondalkin. If he played for any of the semi final teams people would be raving about him.
Look as I said even if he wssntya Meath player I'd be talking about him. He is a class defender, perhaps the best man marker in the game .

Correction Donal is a no 2 not 3 hit wrong number on phone. He is a corner back of they highest quality. Now this year with the hospital wing list of injuries Donal was moved around quite a bit mostly at 6 which in fairness was a problem area for us but he shored it up. But ask any Meath man and they'll tell you ni2 is his best position. With Kev Reilly probably out next year I doubt we will see Donal play corner back, he will most likely continue at chb in front of Menton who is the only obvious replacement for Reilly at this stage.

Fine player that Keoghan lad. There's not a county in Ireland that wouldn't find room in their defence for him.

Reilly is a great full back but he's injured so often it's hard to say he's the best.
