1657209 Not as am good as people thought? Listen we could have played Donegal at there own game like Kerry did and beat them but at least we went out and played the game the right way we can keep our heads up cause ourselves and Mayo are the only teams left out there that play it the right way. The Kerry team of the 70's and 80's will go down as the greatest ever but they were beaten by Offaly and Cork during that era so our people telling me that Offaly or Cork were the better team than Kerry? No just like in this era so far we our the best and will be back not year to show everyone why, sure the bookies have us favourites already ffs

What do you mean you would have beaten Donegal at their own game ? - You played them and lost by six points - It was only four weeks ago so its difficult to change history so soon - Might have been more if McHugh and McFadden took another 2 goals chances.

Our Keeper played better than yours
Our Full back line certainly outplayed yours
Our half back line kept their shape and didnt go for em masse walkabouts under the Nally stand
Our midfield outplayed and outfielded you
Our forwards took 67% of their scoring chances versus <50% for Dublin

Im baffled to see under what scenario you would have won that game over 70 minutes
Where exactly do you think you would have outplayed us - based on the performances of both teams over 70 minutes

Its Not Subbuteo - The players are allowed to move of their own accord ? - Having a non existant Half back line - A Midfield that cant field - corner forwards who wont score if they are marked and a target man who cant actually kick a ball straight are diffcult challenges to overcome - no matter what
set up you play.

If the donegal half back line all decided to go on forward runs at the same time and then agreed not to track back when Dublin got possession - then yes Dublin may have beaten us.
All this nonsense about man to man - Fine then If Dublin had stayed man to man with Ryan McHugh instead of giving him the run of the park - the Result would have been different - but it was hardly Donegal's fault that he wasn't marked when he went forward

ruanua,
Donegal out played us and won , i said on a post leading up to the game ,That on any given Sunday any team can win, but was told it couldnt happen. ye were by far the better team . Your right Ryan mc Hugh got the freedom of croker and wasnt picked up , that is nothing to do with what way another team sets up, its us playing russin roulette in a big game and getting caught.
But ye approched the game perfectly and got your rewards. I dont like this slagging Donegal of now from certain posters who think they have all the answers of how things should be done.
I also dont believe ye have to play blanket defense to beat blanket defense ,Donegal have a good team and its up other teams to beat them , we didnt this year ,Kerry were fortunate in my mind that Donegal had put everything into that Dublin game, they are only human and were flat against Kerry. Although Kerry have to be congratulated for overcoming 2 good teams in Mayo and Donegal.
