Interesting that Buckley looks set to stay. I wonder did he and/or senior players endorse this option over McStay/McHale?

Looks like Connelly has been given the job. Fairly predictable really. McStay was never going to be given a fair crack at it despite his record. Mcstay only used to make it appear as if it was a two horse race when it never really was.

Delighted for Noel....great respect for him. Maybe I'm a bit biased being from the same club. I know the Mayo team rate him highly. Homes head of bad room team and keeping donie Buckley is huge news. I wish them all the best and will be right behind them. Lots of Mayo fans seem unhappy alright. First South Mayo manager of Mayo I believe.

Delighted with the appointment of Noel and Pat. If Noel is as good a manager as he was a captain he'll do we. Pat was the last man to win silverware for the seniors in Croke Park and they've won the U21s with some of the current squad.

Ya realdub I'm very happy. Noel was captain of team when we won national league in 01 and pat was manager, they managed u21s to all ireland in 06. Noel involved with development panels in the county and manages his own club team who are in co inter semi at the moment. Pat brought Castlebar to all ireland club final last year.
