Couldn't have Cillian O'Connor. All he does is take frees and penalties. He's very overrated.

He should have scored another 1-3 or so in the first Kerry game and easily and 0-4 the second day.

Everybody saying cillian o Connor and I know he's top scorer again this year but Iv never seen him offer anything from play. He got young player of the year a few years ago when he didn't score a point from play outside of Connacht. A player the media love but is way over rated in my eyes.

Rua nua
I didn't say Colin should win it but he should be nominated and young Costello from Dublin as well and maybe Paul Murphy from Kerry.

@Pingcity. O'Connor scored 3-14 (1-5 from play) over the 2 semi final games. I think he was fouled for both Mayo penalties also. He was also excellent in general play and in winning turnovers when Kerry had possession. I take it you were away on holidays last week?

Are people forgetting that the Young Footballer of the Year in recent years has rarely also received an All Star? Aidan Walsh in 2010 being the only player in the last 10 years to have received both in the same year. So it's a case of Ryan McHugh receiving one or the other in my opinion and with the other outstanding U-21s not being involved half as much in games as McHugh I can't see him NOT receiving the YFOTY award. Baring this in mind my All Stars predictions are:

1. Durcan
2. E McGee
3. N McGee
4. Higgins
5. McGlynn
6. Lacey
7. P. Murphy
8. N. Gallagher
9. D. Moran
10.MacNiallais
11.Flynn
12.D.Walsh
13.O'Donoghue
14.Murphy
15.Connolly

O'Conner is a class act, anyone thinking different hasn't a clue.

If Donaghy gets an allstar it's a disgrace to the system. Should be judged on whole year, not one month.

I understand your point regarding Donaghy Brolly but the question is should more emphasis be placed on the bigger games against better opposition?

Donaghy rescued Kerry in the drawn game, was a pivotal player in the replay and if for arguments sake he is crucial in winning the final that will be Kerry's three biggest games where he has been of huge importance. Personally I still wouldn't have him as an All Star but it is not as simple as you put it either.

Take MDMA for example (or many of the Dublin team for that matter). They were hugely impressive all throughout the year against weaker opposition but failed to perform when faced with a decent challenge. Do they then deserve all stars because they have had 4/5 very good performances against one poor outing when it counted?

11. Shane Walsh - The youngster lit up this years championship and was the main reason Galway got so far. One for the future.

Eh? Only had to beat Tipp who played their football in div 4 this spring.

Hope Monaghan's defense is recognized for the year they had. Would be disappointed if one of Dessie Mone or Drew Wylie don't get one. Could see maybe Darren Hughes get an nomination but not a hope getting one. Beggan in nets is another that should get a nomination in nets but Durkan to win it unless he has a final meltdown.

I'd say the Q/F against Dublin will finish any chance of Monaghan players winning, nominations yes, winning no.
