Couldn't have Cillian O'Connor. All he does is take frees and penalties. He's very overrated. HomerJay (Wicklow) - Posts: 369 - 03/09/2014 21:31:07 1647727 Link 0 |

Everybody saying cillian o Connor and I know he's top scorer again this year but Iv never seen him offer anything from play. He got young player of the year a few years ago when he didn't score a point from play outside of Connacht. A player the media love but is way over rated in my eyes. @Pingcity. O'Connor scored 3-14 (1-5 from play) over the 2 semi final games. I think he was fouled for both Mayo penalties also. He was also excellent in general play and in winning turnovers when Kerry had possession. I take it you were away on holidays last week? pdempsey (Mayo) - Posts: 1313 - 04/09/2014 11:56:49 1647850 Link 0 |

Are people forgetting that the Young Footballer of the Year in recent years has rarely also received an All Star? Aidan Walsh in 2010 being the only player in the last 10 years to have received both in the same year. So it's a case of Ryan McHugh receiving one or the other in my opinion and with the other outstanding U-21s not being involved half as much in games as McHugh I can't see him NOT receiving the YFOTY award. Baring this in mind my All Stars predictions are: SurelyToGod (Donegal) - Posts: 382 - 04/09/2014 16:02:37 1647990 Link 0 |

O'Conner is a class act, anyone thinking different hasn't a clue. Brolly (Monaghan) - Posts: 4472 - 04/09/2014 17:34:41 1648050 Link 0 |
I understand your point regarding Donaghy Brolly but the question is should more emphasis be placed on the bigger games against better opposition? Keane16 (Kerry) - Posts: 306 - 04/09/2014 17:59:26 1648063 Link 0 |

11. Shane Walsh - The youngster lit up this years championship and was the main reason Galway got so far. One for the future. Mr_Pundit (UK) - Posts: 677 - 04/09/2014 18:33:07 1648083 Link 0 |
Hope Monaghan's defense is recognized for the year they had. Would be disappointed if one of Dessie Mone or Drew Wylie don't get one. Could see maybe Darren Hughes get an nomination but not a hope getting one. Beggan in nets is another that should get a nomination in nets but Durkan to win it unless he has a final meltdown. I'd say the Q/F against Dublin will finish any chance of Monaghan players winning, nominations yes, winning no. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 04/09/2014 19:08:44 1648107 Link 0 |
