Didn't Ger Loughnane also make some comment at the height of his managerial prowess about not wanting the Munster Hurling final to turn into a pansies' bunfight? ironmaiden (Kilkenny) - Posts: 28 - 03/09/2014 20:05:58 1647670 Link 0 |
Whatever about wanting physicality (legally of course), O'Connors comments were a personal insult to Barry Kelly. It's another example of hurling snobbery as valley mentioned. No way would this comment (or Duignans earlier this summer) have been made if the ref was from Cork for example Darragh (Westmeath) - Posts: 301 - 03/09/2014 20:38:46 1647693 Link 0 |
Great work from agent Eddie. The pressure is ratcheting up on Kelly as we speak. ballydalane (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1246 - 03/09/2014 21:58:28 1647753 Link 0 |
Could those comments come back to haunt Eddie!! WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 04/09/2014 09:18:22 1647770 Link 0 |
For me Barry Kelly has improved greatly over the last few years and in my opinion he is currently the top hurling ref in the country. Hoover78 (Limerick) - Posts: 865 - 04/09/2014 09:31:43 1647774 Link 0 |
Kelly wouldn't be bothered in the slightest what anyone has to say, the rest of us have to endure this childish pre-match claptrap every year. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 04/09/2014 09:56:51 1647791 Link 0 |
Hurling in general should be left flow as long as no-one is acting the b******* ad trying to hurt an opponent. Kelly tends to be strict on players holding the stick up to opponents throats when they are in posession. Some people don't think that ought be penalised, apparently :-) hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 04/09/2014 16:12:27 1648001 Link 0 |
they should ask Eddie what does he think of the ref in the 2009 All-Ireland final tiobraidArann (Tipperary) - Posts: 362 - 04/09/2014 16:23:01 1648009 Link 0 |
Kelly penalized Tipp an awful lot in the Limerick game something like 1-08 of their total came from placed balls. And rightly so Tipp were punished and I think we have learned from that. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 04/09/2014 16:40:47 1648021 Link 0 |
