My assessment is that Dublin played into the hands of Donegal.
I dont think it was some genius tactical work done on behalf of McGuinness to win that game. Donegal played exactly the same way on Sunday as they have done since they won their last All Ireland in 2012. What Dublin did is that they played exactly the way your not suppose to play when facing up to Donegal by all out attack with not enough players keeping guard at the back.
Armaghs style of play nearly got the better of Donegal in semi, defence and attack. All out attack is just asking for a counterattack from the Donegal men who love that sort of thing. The Dublin think tank should have studied the semi final between Armagh and Donegal more closely in my view.
most people and particularly donegal people took objection to devenney not because of his prediction but because he was talking about dublin v donegal before either side even won their quarter finals and was showing disrespect to both armagh and monaghan i think some donegal players even came out and criticised him after the armagh match
I'm sure the finance element is important - Its good to have the right backroom team - GYM facilities - Recovery facilities and to be able to take the players out of the spotlight if and when you need -but I'm not sure its as big a deal as some analysts are making of it.
In 2013 - Lacey/Gallagher/McGlynn missed 50% plus of training - becuase they were injured - simple as - also for many of the winter months The players were taking SAM to Dog and pony shows and the opening of every Shop/bag of crisps
In 2014 we had almost a fully fit panel - putting in heavy training miles across Dunfanaghy Sand Dunes building up their base fitness
Money resources etc etc didnt make much of a difference - If your'e key players are not fit or are fully fit thats a big difference Short of putting in Bionic Cruciates Im not sure how much difference money makes. (Of course you need money to get access to top consultants/procedures and Rehab programmes - but thats table stakes for any of the top 12 teams)
