For anybody that watches Seó Spóirt, will know that he has mentioned this a couple of times throughout the year. DL17 (Donegal) - Posts: 86 - 02/09/2014 14:50:59 1646879 Link 0 |
If you take Joe Brollys inherent nastiness away from the programme it would be a lot more enjoyable. I love the way guys like Dermot Earley and Ciaran Whelan can disagree with one another without getting personal. joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 02/09/2014 19:02:13 1647115 Link 0 |
Tomas o Se himself is a good analyst. I think he worked really well with Mchugh and Mcstay last sunday. They all came across as sound lads (even if McStay was still visibly upset with the ref) who just wanted to talk football. joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 02/09/2014 19:45:54 1647150 Link 0 |
@ DL17 - I'm not entirely sure regards the facets of ye're game being adopted. Possibly debatable I guess. I suppose All-Ireland champions in fairness do set a trend in some respects. Tyrone were awesome against us in the '03 semi-final and deservedly went on to win the All-Ireland. I didn't foresee us winning an All-Ireland for years following on from that game. In fairness Jack O'Connor came in and the squad at the time responded to the new challenge, raised their game to the standard set and went on to win 4 of the next 6 All-Irelands. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7857 - 02/09/2014 20:48:11 1647185 Link 0 |
He's a decent enough pundit and if it happened during a Tyrone match then it's fair enough to say who he was playing. Didn't think that was a dig but did think there was a veiled dig at Ulster football and the possession, handpasing game when he said "it is football after all" when talking about kick passing. county man (Limerick) - Posts: 1102 - 02/09/2014 21:01:54 1647192 Link 0 |
He is a good pundit. He certainly knows football and he is fair. However, like most RTE analysts he seems to know a lot about players from stronger teams and almost nothing about players from the weaker counties. When asked about qualifier games in earlier rounds most comments are fairly banal. Then again given RTE's dismal coverage of certain games, why would he bother his backside doing any research? Most of the others are not much better. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 02/09/2014 21:35:12 1647223 Link 0 |
i think that was a dig against teams in general who dont do enough kicking county man more so than a dig at ulster or anything..lots of teams all over the country do things that way...arguably tyrone at their best would be the second best side in terms of kick passing to kerry or certainly in recent years fabio8 (USA) - Posts: 2182 - 02/09/2014 21:41:23 1647228 Link 0 |
