Don't want to split hairs Muckoss but the last time I checked the sun does rise in the east.

Just testing to see who is awake, alert & on the ball Cleatus, glad to see it's a Donegal man.

If JMcG and the boys are as sharp on Sun we will be home & hosed & the mods will be out on Mon morning collecting the bodies of dead Dublin posters!!!

At the risk of splitting more hairs - Don't recall Colm Anthony taking too many frees from the left hand side of the pitch

I dont see why Donegal are so highly rated, they struggled over a poor Monaghan side in the Ulster Final they beat a very ordinary Armagh side by the skin of the teeth. it seems pundits automatically overrate Ulster teams. The standard in Ulster has dropped in recent years. I feel Donegal are the weakest of the 4 teams left in the championship. I predict Sunday wont be a great game and I expect the Dubs to maul Donegal by at least 7 or 8 points.

I find that drinking a lot passes the time Lockjaw! We could start an ecumenical support group :-)

Really looking forward to it. Slagging aside it has all the ingredients of a great and unpredictable occasion. Bring it on!

I think the winner on Sunday will win the final also. Mayo are spent and Kerry are naive.

Ah the Sunset House! Probably the most inaptly named pub in Ireland!

I'll probably pop into a few of the old haunts, maybe The Auld Triangle and Phil Ryans for a couple! Does Gills still open on match days?

Might even try the Hideout! Is that still open? A great wee hidden spot away from the madness of Quinns/Big Tree etc
I remember going on a awful session in there with some Down supporters the day they beat Kildare in 2010. Some craic though!

Yea The Hideout is no more.Lockjaw you could try The Bridge, just a few yards down from The Sunset,or Lowrys bar, down from The Bridge. Two pubs i always frequent post game.I hit a few speakeasies around O Connell St,Marlborough St and Talbot St beforehand. One thing is for sure,i have never frequented Quinns,The Big Tree or Coppers.I like space to breath and to be able to hear myself think.

In 1992 I was too young to back Donegal who were available at 4/1 that day. I have often thought about it since. Well next Sunday Donegal HT / FT is 14/1..... and i'm having some of that

Could not agree with you and don't think the present Kerry team would have any chance against Donegal. You know how Kerry teams play against defensive set up Ulster teams. If we were to meet would be confident enough. As regards Mayo , well after the Roscommon game a lot of Mayo posters admitted they do not play well against Blanket defence systems. What Roscommon would have as regards Blanket defence would be nothing comparing to Donegal's. I think Dara o Shea made the point in the Irish times after watching , first:::Roscommon vArmagh and then the Ulster final
I honestly think a lot of people throughout Ireland (excluding Donegal and some Ulster teams) are ignorant of Donegal's system. Should see it on Sunday at its brilliant best.
We are playing this system now for 4 years under JMcG so just imagine the amount of coaching and time is put into it to make it so effective.
Armagh are probably the nearest to Donegal at present as what I saw from Corks efforts vMayo and Mayo themselves in the first half v Kerry last Sunday would not be my idea of a properly organised defensive system.
Don't forget when we won Sam in 2012 we never slaughtered teams on the scoreboard, but we did on the field of play Sundays game is a massive game and it will let us Donegal people know where we stand.

Naw I actually reckon Donegal are the best hope of beating Dublin this year, neither Mayo or Kerry have a serious hope.

Now Mayo are a superb team when at full strength, but I don't think they are at full strength and certainly don't think they are firing on all cylinders this year. May be just tiredness, but I constantly feel they are being dragged through these games by 5 or 6 key experienced men. They seem to switch off for periods, and then kick into their excellent stride before dropping off again.

Kerry are always technically good, but I think they lack that killer edge needed to become All Ireland Champions this year. They should have beat Mayo in the end up on Sunday, but I suspect this Mayo team in full flight would make short work of this Kerry team.

Ulster football is on the rise again, I believe we will see stronger looking Derry, Tyrone, Monaghan and Armagh teams Challenging Donegal next season. Cavan and Down need to re-evaluate, but are decent sides. I definitely think Ulster is at its strongest since 2007 or so.

Gary mc ,the truth is Ulster will be competitive next year like most years, Now that could be because Tyrone and Donegal drop back a bit and other counties catch up. There is nothing to suggest at this moment that it will be stronger.
A Donegal victory of course could change all that . But a heavy defeat and ?
