rhode have only themselves to blame
was so dissapointed with them
their passing was shocking bad
where as vincents ran like a well oiled engine
its worrying for leinster
not only at county level are dublin so far ahead
but at club level too
and its not all down to money either

Very annoying that they don't just put the two semi finals on the same day so we can watch them both one after the other. Am I wrong or just moaning for the sake of it?

I agree clondalkin, why not have a double header for the semi's.

Portaferry having to travel to Thurles to play Killmallock ?
Thought that would be in Parnell Park with Killmallock only an hour away.

Sounds mad Portaferry having to go all that way, unless they gave prior consent & were perhaps compensated? A lot of fine Down hurlers have probably never gotten to play on the hallowed Thurles sod, though.

Clondalkin
I agree also , it should be a double header , it would make more since plus you would have had a bigger crowed as well. What a joke.

Portaferry are being shafted here bigtime.Parnell Park was the venue for recent All Ire club hurling semi finals with Ulster teams was it not?Kilmallock have all but guaranteed their involvement on St Patricks Day.Disgraceful carry on by the powers that be.

You have to feel for Portaferry. A once in a lifetime opportunity for players and supporters to make an All Ireland final and the powers that be just stack the odds up against them by fixing the game for Thurles, in Kilmallock's back yard. I don't think people who haven't travelled the distance to the Ards peninsula or the Glens appreciate just what a trek it is.

Development of hurling this is not. The authorities should hide their heads in shame.

Sorry to the Gaa I just heard they moved the second game to Sunday after a request from the Ulster Champs who have a wedding on Saturday which is fair enough.

glensboy you have a short memory. last year was mount leinster rangers once in a lifetime opportunity as well and where were they drawn to play there all Ireland semi final? they had to travel to newry in county down to play the Antrim & ulster champions. they just got on with it though and won. so dont think you should be complaining this year when you weren't last year as it suited.

Yes allforone, that game should have been played in Parnell Park.Approx distance from Carlow to Newry 120 miles.Loughgiel to Newry 80 miles.Distance Portaferry to Thurles 220 miles.Distance Kilmallock to Thurles 60 miles.A lot of these Kilmallock lads would be very familiar with Thurles.Portaferry were really delt the short straw here.

Actually less than 50 miles from Kilmallock to Thurles.

There was a brave bit of whinging by carlow posters on here before that game in newry allforone, so spare us the righteous indignation.

However, having read the Irish News today the Portaferry manager is happy enough to play it there, so fair play and good luck to them.

It does make an already difficult match even more so mind you!

Sur who knows look at MLR last year and even Loughiel Shamrocks. Would be a great boost for another Ulster club to win the hurling.
Kilmallock though look the biz and wouldn't be surprised if they go all the way.
You'd would think at this stage its a Ballyhayle v Kilmallock final.
Club hurling doh is always capable of a surprise or two!!!

Really look forward to the Vincents v Corofin game, two very good teams my money is on Vincents but from what I'm hearing Corofin are the best team in Ireland. What do posters think?

Wow Corofin as good as everyone said vincents in all sorts of trouble and there carrying a player whose basically in the way, Vincents blessed to be only two down if I were a betting man Id stick it all on Corofin to win it out but Vincents can be in all sorts of trouble but in the space of two minutes can get goals out of nowhere so you never know.

Corofin are starting to panic. Hope they pull through.

Absolutely delighted to see Corofin win. Thoroughly deserved. Brilliant defensive work and that Lundy at full forward was brilliant.

Dublin county and clubs have all the advantages. Population, money, facilities. The fact that they bottle so many big games is the great leveller I suppose.
