KK full back Ger Healion wasn't able to resume in extra-time & certainly was a loss as he was colossal in normal time.

The King looked his age to me.Granted he picked off a few nice points when he found a bit of space, but in general play he was quite ineffective and was beaten for most 50/50 balls.TJ reid is some stylish hurler. His hooking and blocking is top class.Very canny operator.

He scored 4 points from play 3 of them the best you'll see anywhere at this time of year.

TJ Reid exemplifies Kilkenny imo.
He doesnt get the attention that the likes of Henry S does, but he is simply a phenomenal hurler, and thats why I think that rumours of the cats demise are premature.Yes some big NAMES have retired, but the team is still full of unreal talent.

Staggering difference in the skill levels on display.

Vincents foot passing and team work has been excellent and only for Rhodes goalie they'd have another few goals.in contrast Rhode have had no support running at all and their foot passing has been abysmal so far.Considering Diarmuid Connolly doesn't look to be over extending himself so far Rhode could be in for an awful beating if things don't massively improve in the second half.

Vinnies awful wasteful. Rhode need a goal.

Sullivan sent off. Should have gone earlier in fairness to him. Very disappointing stuff.

REf having a mare.

Rhode players have no interest in game at the moment. Trying to get Connolly sent off, awful dive there from one of the Rhode players after fouling Connolly.

The Ref has been Rhodes most effective tool in the second half.

lets hope so clondalkin because the leinbster club has been a waste of time this year. Dublin teams are just too good. 7 of the last 9 leinster club titles have gone Dublin teams now.

i must have been watching a differant game today
as the ref seemed hell bent on trying to antagonise connolly
take for instance gavin burke took about 8 or 9 steps and rightly so the rhode crwod were looking for a free
he passes to connolly who takes two steps passed the player and goes to solo and he blows him for overcarrying
not to mention the rhode players focusing on him and looking to get him to retaliate and get sent off
more than trying to win the game itself.
then the tg4 interviewer asks the vincents manager the worst quaetion of the year
trying to say connolly was lucky not to be sent off
like wow i know theres country bias on tg4 against dublin club football
but they didnt bother to show the reigning all ireland champions all year
id be more interested in how a yellow card seems to be the punishment for all parties in a scuffle
surely the person who starts a fight looking to get a player sent off should get a more severe punishment
than the player who just defends himself or is the one on the recieving end
a major problem in the game at the minute has happened across the board this year
its no wonder theres so much trouble in wicklow club games
if thats the best ref they have to offer

Ref was erratic to say the least! Dermie was lucky not to get a second yellow. He was taking some desperate stick, verbally and physically off and on the ball, and it would take a saint not to react, but he has to be aware that some mediocre teams and players will build their game plan around that sort of nonsense. He should maybe have a chat with Bernard and the Gooch as to how best to handle it!

Vinnies were very impressive and definitely seem to be building towards the latter end with a bit in reserve. Not taken in I have to say by much of the hype around Corofin. I reckon it is between Vinnies and Slaughtneil who have been impressive so far and play the sort of game that can put it up to Vinnies.

Have to agree HurlinDub regarding Connolly.

Connolly is the most gifted player in Ireland right now. Unfortunately that means people will revert to sledging and foul play to put him off. It won't work. Can see him put in a master class next day out against corofin. Vincent's seem to be peaking at the right moment. Look like a lot left in them.

theres no hope for reffing ever improving iwhen you see one of its top refs
come out with comments like he has done about connolly
if the ref , two linesmen and four umpires cannot see a team trying to get somebody sent off intentionally
or is it they dont want to do anything about it and think its part of the game
be a sad day for the gaa if refs think thats a fair and manly way of playing the game

Absolute disgrace that a high profile ref (from Offaly of course) goes on social media to slag off a club player. What's even worst is that he thinks Connolly was the bad guy my god this man refereed this years all ireland hurling final.

I'd say he was looking at the match through Offaly tinted glasses! Offaly teams of old were always well able to give it, but in fairness I don't ever recall the likes of Johnny Mooney rolling around on the grass trying to get another player sent off for nothing!

I was firmly in the RHode camp yesterday but by the end I was glad the mafia boys won out as the Offaly lads had no interest in playing football.

They were trying to get Connolly sent off all day, pulling, dragging hitting him off the ball and diving round when he was in their general vicinity. Pathetic stuff and Rhode got what they deserved from the game i.e. nothing.

Hopefully Corofin beat Vinnies but do not repeat the cowardly antics we saw from Rhode yesterday.
